MessagesNamaskar! It’s the time of year and a matter of pleasure that we are gathering the news for Mahavishva Sectorial newsletter of Hong Kong Sector to share with the whole world.
I want to thank everybody who took the time to share their news and hard work to propagate Baba’s universal mission around the world. Our organization is delighted to hear that the new pracar and projects around the sector were well-developed by the all margiis and workers. It is thrilled that the presentation of the newsletter matches the quality of the content produced by our margiis and workers. Our activities in all the countries of the sector through out the year 2017 are full of many achievements and progress.
I hope we devotees will find some time to go more deeper in sadhana and enjoy better health for the year 2018. Next year HKS will have its biggest and historical year in Ananda Marga—DMS in Hong Kong and many more activities in sector.There will be lots of celebration and other programs.

I feel honored to be given the opportunity to share the wonderful work carried out by Dadas, Didis and Margiis in Hong Kong Sector in 2017. The output this year has increased from last year as the acaryas and Margiis grow and work together in greater harmony to bring His sublime ideas to humanity.
I hope that the compilation of the news from different part of Hong Kong Sector will give you a small picture of the immense efforts behind the activities reported and the joy felt by those who rendered the service as well as by those who have received it.

News From Around The Sector Vladivostok Region-Far East & Central Russia Ananda Shivanii Maintains Busy Schedule Numerous inspiring programs were held at Ananda Shivanii Master Unit throughout the year that sent waves of inspiration across Russia.
The third RAWA Fest in July brought together 700 people from all over the country. There was extremely positive feedback and a very sentient atmosphere. Meditation hall was always full for collective meditation.
The yearly summer regional seminar was a great success attended by 190 people. The topics were spiritual, social and organizational. Margiis say that it was the best retreat of the last 10 years. There was tremendous spiritual charge and organizational zeal.
The meditation pandal was renovated and a solid wooden floor was installed.
The online spice selling business is now breaking even and will soon begin to show a profit to support the Master Unit activities.

Ananda Annapurna Master Unit Gets a Facelift Many nice developments emerged from the hard work of Dada Devajinana and his team of volunteers-Vrajagopal, Devavrata, Prana Krsna, Ayujaksa and Ashutosh.
LED lighting installed from the main building to the Dharmacakra Hall. A wooden ceiling and LED starlight was put in the DC Hall. Two new Toilet-Bathrooms were installed in the main building. A fourth room was constructed on the 3rd floor of the main building. The kitchen was renovated with increased cooking capacity for 60 people.
A Variety of Programs for Spiritual Inspiration Dada Devajinana conducted 6 weekend retreats in Far East Russia which were attended by a total of 140 people. These were held in Khabarovsk (3), Vladivostok (2) and Komsomolsk.
The annual Far East Russia Conference was attended by 74 Margiis. Also on the Master Unit there was a Karma Yoga Camp with 15 Margiis. Sixty people attended the New People’s Retreat while 30 attendees enjoyed the intensive sadhana retreat.
Didi Indumati organized a sister’s retreat that was attended by 30 sisters in mid-October. The November Autumn Conference brought together 40 Margiis from Far East Russia.

Social Service Work in Russia Numerous social service programs are carried out throughout Siberia and FE Russia wherever there are Ananda Marga units which benefit around 2000 people every week.
The WWD Office in Barnaul cooperates with a local NGO “Clouds” to serve 30-60 people with warm meals three times per week. A similar program in Yekaterinburg assists 40 destitute people. Six units in Siberia do weekly mass feeding programs (Sadavrata).
High Quality Honey Produced at WWD Master Unit Ananda Shailaduhita Master Unit, in Altai Region, Russia produced 400 kg of high quality honey in their first effort this year. The honey is very special and is one of the finest from this region in Russia. Didi Ananda Sainjana was assisted by brothers Dharmamurti & Vasudeva and their families. Over 25 margiis volunteers including LFTs brothers & sisters helped at different times during this process from May to September.
Training Programs Didi Ananda Sainjana conducted a 100 hours Rajadhiraja Yoga Teacher’s Training attended by 25 Margiis for 10 days in August at Ananda Shivanii Master Unit.
Didi also conducted a 6 week LFT training for 9 Margii sisters wherein daily spiritual & social philosophy classes were given. SS Dada came in July and gave the LFT examination at which four sisters passed.

Ulaan Baatar Region-Mongolia Didi Ananda Kalika Wins Humanitarian Award The Women’s International Film and Television Showcase Foundation (WIFTS) awarded Didi Ananda Kalika the Humanitarian Award for 2017 for her outstanding work as Founder and Director of the Lotus Children’s Home in Mongolia. The award was conferred on Didi at the Foundation’s Luncheon on December 10th in Los Angeles.
A couple from France drove their truck all the way to Mongolia to donate clothes, games, and other assorted items to the Lotus Home.
On the occasion of Eid the Turkish community donated food and school supplies to the Children’s Home.
Didi’s newly completed skills training centre has a bakery, mechanics garage, hair/beauty salon training room as well as two multi-purpose classrooms to give her children fantastic opportunities to learn and practice life skills.
A November fundraising dinner at the Kempinski Hotel in Ulaan Baatar with 100 local guests raised $5000 in support of Didi’s Home.

Indian Embassy Appreciates Ananda Marga Participation in International Yoga Day Ananda Marga received an appreciation letter from the Indian Embassy in Mongolia for its participation in the third international yoga day on June 21 in Ulaan Baatar. 8 Sisters and 4 brothers performed Kaoshikii and 4 brothers performed Tandava on the main stage before hundreds of participants. Thousands also heard and saw it on radio and TV.
On January 21, Dada Divyalokeshananda participated in World Religion Day in Ulaan Baatar along with 100 representatives from other spiritual groups. Meanwhile Dada invited guests from different faiths to the Ulaan Baatar Jagrti on September 21—International Peace Day.

Hong Kong Region Hong Kong Margiis Render Valuable Service in Ananda Nagar A group of 10 Margiis travelled to Ananda Nagar in September where they engaged in useful service for the 18 Ananda Marga sponsored schools surrounding our global headquarter.
On Prabhat Sangeet Day they served warm meals for 700 children and distributed notebooks, pencil cases and useful stationary to the children.
Fasting Camps Popular Hong Kong Margiis conduct regular yoga juice detox retreats varying in length from weekends up to seven and ten days. The last camp in December was the 24th such event and was attended by 9 persons. This useful form of pracar has brought many people into the contact of Ananda Marga as they seek a healthier and more spiritual lifestyle.
Promoting Vegetarianism and Healthy Food A new, creative Pracar activity is known as “Vegetarian Lunchbox Making”. In a matter of 90 minutes the students learned how to pack 7 dishes for their midday lunch at the work place. It is a great way to promote vegetarian diet as well as healthy eating! And in the busy city of Hong Kong it is a very useful skill to learn!

Seoul Region-Korea New Wave of Pracar Brings Many into Ananda Marga’s Contact Ananda Marga in Korea experienced a steady flow of Pracar activities throughout the year that strengthened old and new Margiis and attracted many people to the holistic spiritual way of life.
Our largest gathering of the year was on Jeju Island from May 13-16 where 67 people attended the 3rd International Music and Meditation Festival. Eighteen performers participated in the evening cultural program viewed by 55 local guests.
Nine people learned Ananda Marga meditation that weekend while 9 others had their lessons reviewed by the acaryas present.
We completed the two year long Advanced Yoga Course in December with 12 Margiis attending the 11th and last module.
Two Fasting Camps in the Master Unit brought together 7 and 15 people in May and September. One day seminars conducted in Daejon on three occasions inspired six new people to learn the Ananda Marga meditation system.
Our regular Conferences in Spring and Autumn enabled Margiis to meet SS Dada and SWWS Didi whose classes and talks were much appreciated.
Prabhat Sangeet Retreat, Neohumanist Education Workshop and RAWA Retreat were three new events in our Calendar that were attended by 21, 17 and 19 Margiis respectively.

Tokyo Region-Japan Autumn Conference Well Attended The annual Autumn Conference held in Kansai (near Kyoto) this year had the best attendance this year with 20 Margiis including a Margii sister from Russia present.
Dada Vijitatmananda toured regularly in different cities such as Osaka, Kansai, Wakayama, Okinawa and Fukuoka. In every place there is either a one day or weekend seminar for Margiis and interested new persons. Dada also gathers Margiis for vegetarian cooking class followed by a collective meal. A good result was the formation of a new unit in Fukuoka in November.
A relief store has been started in Chiba (Tokyo) with some uniforms and a few other materials. Dada normally does Sadavrata to two or three persons daily when he is visiting his office in Osaka.

Taipei Region-Taiwan“Baba in Taiwan” Spring Conference a Great Inspiration A major highlight of 2017 was the Spring Conference whose theme “Baba in Taiwan” inspired more than 300 Margiis and 26 acaryas who attended at Ananda Suruci Master Unit in Yujing, Taiwan from April 1-3. Margiis came from Hong Kong, MLC, Japan, Russia and Thailand. Especially invited guests included Dada Krsnabuddhyananda, Didi Ananda Lalita, Brother Ganesh and Shakti Deva who sent his memoirs via a recorded voice note of Baba’s 1979 visit. Other inspiring presenters were Taiwan Margiis Sanjaya, Krsna Kumar, Tapeshvar and Jiivan who were present at the time of Baba’s historical visit.
The entire program consisted of recollections of Baba’s visit to Taiwan in 1979 by some of the acaryas and Margiis who were present that time. Beautifully framed photos of Baba and His Taiwan devotees were mounted in the DC Hall with profound quotations spoken by Baba during His 15-day visit to the island. Three dramas depicting devotees’ experiences of Baba were presented in the evening program along with a slide show of unique Baba photos taken during His Taiwan visit. The Baba video after the 9 hours Akhanda Kiirtan was Baba’s discourse on “The Secrets of Success” which He delivered as the DMS speech in Taiwan.
All new and senior Margiis and Acaryas enjoyed this conference very much; every one felt the presence of Baba and enjoyed the satsaunga and the bliss.

Ananda Suruci Closer to Food Self Sufficiency The Ananda Suruci Master Unit continues to lead the way for Hong Kong Sector and the world to realize Baba’s vision of a rural-based, ideologically united, self-sufficient community that expresses a living model of the Prout theory.
With the twice monthly fasting camps providing the financial resources to employ the 10 full time staff, the vegetable garden and fruit orchards expanded this year to bring the Master Unit closer to food self-sufficiency.
Acting Rector, Dada Yogananda has started an online store to sell the newly developed Farm products such as coconut jam, banana jam, whole wheat bread and organic turmeric powder. The plentiful production of bananas, papayas and other fruits and flowers ensure sufficient food for the hundreds of visitors and staff that keep Ananda Suruci busy throughout the entire year.
New infrastructure this year included two 50,000 litre water tanks to capture rain water from all our roofs; a new irrigation system in the orchard; a new bamboo ceiling in the yoga classroom; new accommodation for long-term volunteers. Main building renovations included: new kitchen; extended dining room and kitchen with new equipment; newly renovated downstairs bathrooms; decoration of the downstairs lobby and bedrooms. A new solar water heater was installed; the roof was painted with heatproof paint and a safety guard was installed; the carport was also extended outside the kitchen.

Apart from the regular Spring and Autumn Conferences and two RDS Meeting of Acaryas, Ananda Suruci hosted 15 Fasting Camps for 405 people, two youth camps with 36 people, two Yoga Meditation Camps for 43 people and a Permaculture Course with 25 students.
Autumn Conference Handled by Next Generation Margiis The new generation of Margiis from Taichung managed an inspiring Conference in October under the theme of “Service and Dedication”. Two hundred and fifteen people attended the Conference including Margiis from Malaysia, MLC and the USA. RAWA program included many enjoyable performances from all the units of Taiwan. Other highlights included 9 hours Akhanda Kiirtan, educative workshops, cooperative games, Baba video and Nagar Kiirtan around the green Master Unit.
Taichung Unit Revival Through the continuous efforts of Dada Caetanyananda the Taichung unit grew in numbers and activities this year with more Margiis assuming different responsibilities.
A public talk and Asana demonstration in organized by Madhumita and Satyavati was attended by 12 People in August. That program was followed by an Akhanda Kiirtan with 19 Margiis joining. A similar public talk in December attracted 170 people. Dada held ten workshops on “The Ecology of Joy” in Taichung and Kaohsiung which was attended by 23 people.
Sister Vistara continues with the weekly asana class for 25 handicapped adults in Taichung home for the handicapped.

D Continues High Standards of Service The Margiis of D under the guidance of Dada Candreshvarananda continue to provide useful service both physical and spiritual to different sections of the Taiwanese society.
Every Tuesday Dada and the D volunteers render service to 80 physically and mentally challenged adults and children in three different places of the city. Every third Sunday in the D office thirteen physically and mentally challenged children enjoy games, asanas and food prepared by the D team. Their bi-monthly services in Linquo, Wanhua & Chungli benefit 400 people.
Spiritual services for members included Fasting Camp in Xindian benefitting 15 people and a Sadhana Shivir at the D Center which was attended by 19 Margiis.

Southern Taiwan Activities Dada Priyabodhananda has continued the weekly yoga classes at the Chang Kong University and Tainan Jagrti since Dada Kovid started the Ananda Yoga university club last year. About 10-15 students attend the weekly class followed by satsaung over a warm meal.
Dada supervised the 2nd diocese seminar in Kaohsiung in July with 20 attendees.
After shifting from Korea in March, Dada has brought his farming skills to Ananda Suruci where he supervises the many vegetables planted by the volunteers: cabbage, lettuce, spinach, gourd, pumpkin, tomato, radish, beetroot, corn, chili and beans.
Dada Kovid conducted two seminars in Taitung this year with attendance of 20 and 15 people of whom 15 were initiated.
The 5th edition of Kiirtan Parikrama was held from January 1-15th this year with the presence of 12 Margiis and 3 acaryas.
Dada Priyabodhananda also continues the weekly yoga classes at the Taipei Academia Sinica Institute at which 7-10 students are regular practitioners.

Taipei Margiis Implement Full Schedule of Activities The Taipei unit is one of the oldest and most active one in Hong Kong Sector. Not a week passes when there is some new activity or the repeat of a previous one. We highlight a few here to give a glimpse of the great commitment that Taipei margiis show for Ananda Marga work.
SS Dada’s vegetarian party in Taipei Jagrti raised $2000 for Ananda Nagar village schools.
Margiis paid annual visit to Home for Lepers on May 30 in Taipei and served warm meals ad entertained the 20 residents with games and songs.
Sister Kamalika organizes service to different elderly care centers every Thursday at which 120-130 elderly people benefit.
Two Diocese Level seminars took place in January and June at which 15 and 28 people attended.
This year’s edition of 72 hours Kiirtan from June 29-July 2 was attended by 80 Margiis from around Taiwan.
A six hour Prabhat Sangeet program was organized in the Taipei Jagrti with the attendance of 35 Margiis. The program included Prabhat Sangeet Dance by Margii Sisters trained by SWWS Didi.

Meinong Master Unit Builds Community and Infrastructure This year Didi Ananda Shivanii organized a variety of interesting programs that attracted many sisters to join at the Ananda Matrika Master Unit near Meinong.
She held an appreciation lunch to thank all of the volunteer work done by local residents for the Master Unit. Thirty people attended the lunch. Throughout the year they made numerous improvements to the MU’s infrastructure including a flood drainage pipe, new roof for the corridor and a new kitchen and dining area for the volunteers.
The yoga detox camp benefitted the ten sisters who attended.
The Didis conducted their “Worker’s Relief Camp” in the Meinong Master Unit in early April that was also attended by twelve sisters. The discipline, sadhana and games made for a rich and fun program.
The Theatre of Hope Workshop conducted by Tapesh for 16 sisters was very popularly received. On Kaoshikii day 22 sisters performed
Kaoshikii on the Master Unit’s outdoor wooden platform.

Didi’s 15 volunteers did service at an elderly persons home in Meinong that benefitted the 25 residents there.
RAWA Activities All Over the Sector Dada Shubhacintananda put to good use his singing skills to inspire and participate in numerous RAWA program for Margiis and the public around Hong Kong Sector.
Dada shared Prabhat Samgeet in two Fasting Camps in Ananda Suruci in April and November that benefited the 70 attendees.
Dada gave regular Prabhat Samgeet classes for two months to the students of the Chang Kong University at the weekly yoga club meeting in Tainan Jagrti.
He participated in RAWA’s morning concert in the Park organized by the Taipei Unit in November. Another public performance of Prabat Samgeet and Kiirtan enthralled the 40 onlookers who attended at Sinica Academic Institute.
Dada started a new unit in Diouliyu, Taiwan where he taught Prabhat Sangeet over a two month period.
Dada’s three day stop smoking camp at Dr. Himadri’s hospital in Imsil, South Korea benefitted 20 students.

Taipei WWD Completes a Busy Year Under the inspiration of SWWS Didi Ananda Kalyanshrii the sisters in Taipei and around the country enjoyed a full range of spiritual and social activities that brought much solidarity and friendship amongst them.
Twenty sisters performed Kaoshikii in full uniform in Daan Park on September 6—Kaoshikii Day.
Twenty sisters enjoyed a gathering in Xindian in August where Didi offered classes and spiritual advice for all the participants.
Didi’s cooking classes were attended by 12 sisters in the WWD Taipei office.
In October and November seven sisters travelled with Didi to visit important Ananda Marga places in India where they got spiritually charged and motivated to work harder for His Mission in Taiwan.

DMS in Hong Kong Will be Biggest Event of Next Year The DMS in Hong Kong from October 2-6 will be the biggest event of the year in our Sector. It will also mark the first time that a DMS has been held in Hong Kong—one of the most important cities in Asia. We have rented a very comfortable resort— Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp that can accommodate up to 500 guests. We are expecting Margiis to come from all over Hong Kong Sector as well as Margiis from India, and other parts of the world as well—some have already booked.
We are offering an early bird discount to encourage early registration.
Apart from the inspiring discourses of Rev. PP Dada there will be 48 hours Akhanda Kiirtan, entertaining evening cultural programs from different countries of Hong Kong Sector and a variety of educative and practical workshops for both new and old Margiis to benefit from.
The DMS committee is working closely with the Hong Kong Margiis who already proved their efficiency by organizing the successful Sectorial Conference last October with 230 Margiis attending.
