December 15 ~ 3 rd Sunday of Advent ~Gaudete Sunday Today’s second reading from the letter of Saint James is four verses that are packed with meaning and encouragement. The words “patient” or “patience” appear four times. The world will tell us that time is running out, so BUY NOW! The Church is telling us that Jesus will come whether the shopping is done or not, so patience! This week try to build in five minutes of quiet time each day to remember a loved one in prayer. That’s a gift we can all use, and it is priceless! Mary Iannuzzi is a spiritual companion/director in formation with the Spiritual Director Certification Program at St. Anthony Shrine & Ministry Center, Boston, MA. She would be happy to accompany you on your spiritual path. One-on-one meetings will take place at St Anthony’s Rectory in Shirley. St Mary’s Adult Christmas Choir will be rehearsing on December 22 at 7pm in the Church Choir Loft. Young adults, aged 12 years and older are welcome. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!

The Holy Name Society of St Anthony’s Parish is hosting a pilgrimage to attend the 11:30am Mass at the

Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston on Sun, Dec 29.

The cost to cover the bus transportation is $20 per person. The bus will leave St Anthony’s parking lot at

9am and return by 2:30pm.

Lunch will not be provided so please bring a snack.

Parishioners of both parishes and their guests are invited.

Join us and see our beautifully restored cathedral.

Call the Office at 978-772-2414 to reserve a seat on the bus by Mon, 12/23 at 1pm, as seating is limited to 50.
