OH COME LET US ADORE HIM For the first time ever, a Nativity scene will shine next to the State
Christmas tree in the North Dakota State Capitol Memorial Hall. The
public is invited to a blessing and lighting of the Nativity scene in an
ecumenical celebration at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. It is sponsored
by North Dakota Catholic Daughters.
ADVENT RETREAT All are welcome to join the Oblates of Annunciation Monastery for an
Advent retreat at Annunciation Monastery, Bismarck, on Sun., Dec. 1. Presenter, Sister Thomas Welder, will lead discussion on the theme, Advent:
An Invitation to Wake up—for Surely LOVE is Coming. The retreat begins at 10
a.m., followed by Eucharistic Liturgy at 11 a.m., and a light lunch. The after-
noon session will resume from 1-3 p.m. There is no fee to attend. Oblates are
women and men of varied faith backgrounds who associate themselves with
a monastery and live according to the Rule of St. Benedict as their state in life
permits. Oblates are supported through relationships with the sisters,
other oblates, monthly meetings/reading materials. For more infor-
mation, contact Sister Patricia Schap, oblate director, or Sister Rose-
mary DeGracia, assistant oblate director, at 701-255-1520. All are wel-
come.

local charity. This year, we’re looking for donations of new or gently-used
gift items that you may find as you're cleaning out closets over the holiday
weekend or during your Black Friday shopping! We're especially interest-
ed in new and gently used gift items (No clothing, please!) for men, boys,
and older siblings. Any new or gently-used gifts items will be accepted;
please drop them off in the office at Bishop Ryan before December 5th.
Thank you!
BUSINESS OWNERS/MANAGERS As you plan your employee Christmas gifts, remember that you can pur-
chase gift cards from the Bishop Ryan Scrip program. We carry gift cards
for 70 local businesses, along with hundreds available that can be spe-
cial ordered for local or on-line purchasing. Place your order for cards ear-
ly, so you’ll have them on time for your gift giving. Using Scrip benefits
Bishop Ryan Catholic School & families. For more info or to place your
Christmas order, call Elaine at 838-3355
LET’S TALK ABOUT AUTO-
MATIC WITHDRAWAL Since the summer in North Dako-
ta is so short, we spend more of
our time away, going to different
parishes closest to our current
location, and since our Winter is
so terrible there are often times
where we are unable to make it to
Mass. However, just because our
circumstances can change, the
costs of running a large parish do
not. Our collections are the only
way we pay our heat, our water,
and our very small staff. We could
not be more appreciative of the
efforts our parishioners have put
into the pledge for our Church
Restoration, but those funds are
strictly for our Restoration and not
for our day to day parish costs.
Please consider signing up for
Automatic withdrawal so you nev-
er miss an opportunity to give.
There are Auto Withdrawal forms
on each white table, and a printa-
ble form our Website.
When you use automatic with-
drawal our church does not incur
a credit card processing fee. It
gives you the freedom to choose
the option of donating, once or
twice month, or even once a quar-
ter or once a year, and it frees up
your time so you’re not writing
checks during Mass or trying to
run to the bank after getting all of
your children settled in the car.
Please consider using Automatic
Withdrawal.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation Mass for
Sophomores will be on
Sunday, March 29th @ 2
pm. Rehearsal/ Confes-
sion on Saturday, March
28th at 1:30PM
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL Today as we celebrate Christ
the King, may we open the
door of our heart so wide
that we may listen to the
voice of Jesus calling us to
help build His kingdom here
on earth.
Last year through your gifts,
the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to help
build the kingdom of God by assisting 376 house-
holds in Minot. One third of those we helped
were homeless. Thank You!

The Society of St Vincent de Paul is grateful to
participate in the TWICE BLESSED campaign of
the St Joseph's Community Health Foundation.
From now until the end of December all donations
made to SVdP through TWICE BLESSED are eligi-
ble to be matched, so your gift during this holiday
season can have double the impact. To donate
online or to download a printable form, please go
to svdpminot.org and click on the "Twice Blessed
Donation" button. Thank you!
STEWARDSHIP “At an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will
come,” says today’s Gospel. Good stewards know
that they are accountable to God for all they have
and are and strive to live in readiness for His
coming.
Stewardship Thought: While earning your daily
bread, be sure to share a slice with those less for-
tunate.
VOCATION VIEWS The Church needs shepherds. Pray that the bish-
ops will lead us well and rely on the power of God.
(2 Samuel 5: 1-3)
STEWARDSHIP SIGN UP We’d like to ask our Parishioners that are cur-
rently signed up for a Ministry to remain on your
same schedule. We will start Stewardship sign
up AFTER we are back upstairs in the new
church.
If you are unable to remain in your current min-
istry slot please call Sarah at the parish office,
otherwise please hold out a little longer!!
