SENSEX, India's first and most popular bellwether index, closed at 19,426.71 points on 31

st December, 2012. This represents an

increase of 0.45% in the index value in the month of December, 2012. The SENSEX hit a high of 19,612.18 on 11th

December, 2012 and a low of 19,149.03 on 18

th December, 2012. The average intra-day volatility during the month was 0.89%.
