Ever wonder how your favorite TV shows or movies are filmed and made? Just hop on a tram at the Warner Brothers V.I.P. Studio Tour in Burbank, California. Our guide was full of information and told us inside secrets of the studio back lot.

As stepped out of the tram for our first stop, we got to walk the streets of New York City. Of course, these streets can take on the look of any city in actuality. Construction crews can come in and change the outside of a slate building and construction a fake brick building from the same structure. A tree can be replaced or completely taken out, and the whole scene can change. In fact, while walking around I would have never thought that the filming of favorite show, "2 Broke Girls", uses this street. I would have never knownhow much they can change this street around.

For all you Spiderman fans out there, you even get to see the alley where the in-famous upside-down kiss between Toby McGuire and Kristen Dunst took place. These scenes look bigger on the big screen but in reality these are small places that look nothing like the sizes they portray on film. Its all an illusionjust an illusion.

Hopping back on tram we saw scenes from the WB show Hart of Dixie, NBCs ER and even got to sit on the famous couch in Central Perk from the show Friends.

We learned another exciting fact while driving around in our tram. All the busi-ness building on the studio lot are made to look like different exteriors. These ex-teriors can portray a hospital, motel, high rise building and much more. In fact, some of these business exteriors have

been used in the Hart of Dixie, The Mentalist and Entourage.

We also got to experience the The Bat-man Exhibit in the studio museum. Dif-ferent Batman masks graced a glass case as soon as we entered the museum and as we walked around we saw the different costumes from the Batman movies. We saw Catwoman, The Riddler, The Joker and The Penguin and their bandits of bad guys costumes. To be looking at movie history right before your very eyes, is just awe inspiring.

We then went into a studio that help all the Batman cars and motorcycles used in the movies. Boy, this could be a guy's paradise. Everything from the Batmobile (in different forms) to high-octane motor-cycles surrounded us, as we got a close up look inside the cars. How many people can say they saw the actual Batmobile?

The end of our tour was over, and we were on our way back. We were passing the studios that housed Big Bang The-ory, Mom, Two and Half Men and 2 Broke Girls. We all had our star struck moment when we saw Jim Parsons (or 'Sheldon' as he is most commonly known as on the hit TV show Big Bang Theory") walking to the studio.

The tour was one of those attractions that you need to experience to appreciate truly and make your memories. You have a new awareness and appreciation for your TV shows and movies after partici-pating in the tour. I promise this is some-thing not to miss. Who knows? You just might see something being filmed or even see a celebrity or two while touring the grounds of the Warner Brothers Studios.

THE BOWERS MUSEUMT o most, visiting a museum is always an eye opening ex-perience. You learn, read and see how people have lived all over the world. Right in Orange Countys backyard stands one of the most prestigious museums that Orange County has to offer. The Bowers Museum, located in Santa Ana, California, has been enriching lives through the world of art and culture for many years now. Founded in 1936 by the City of Santa Ana, the Bowers Museum is one of California's finest and Orange Coun-ty's largest muse-ums. In 1992, a new cultural center and Kidseum opened. To live up to its mission, the Bowers offers exhibitions, lectures, art classes, travel programs, children's art education programs, and other special community programs. Bowers Museum has held such exhibits as; Beethoven: The Late Great, Faberge: Imperial Jeweler to the Tsars and Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of Chinas First Em-peror, just to name a few. I had a chance to take a look around and look at some of the wonderful exhibits they are showing. Heavenly Horses: Two Thousand Years of Chinese and Japanese Equine Art was the first exhibit I walked into and was taken back by the beauty and at times fine detail to these horses made. According to Chinese and Japa-nese culture, the horse was embraced as companion and participant in leisure and recreational activities including polo, horse "dancing," and hunting. Horses also figure prominently in the mythology, philosophy, religion, and folklore of both China and Japan. Also on display was the Spirits and Headhunters: Art of the Pacific Islands, the first thing that took my breath away was a unique necklace made of human teeth. Af-ter gazing at this piece of tribal wear, I wondered around the hall. There I found, beautiful bags made of feathers, marvelous tribal arm bands made from shell and compli-cated yet distinct wood carvings of tribal men in a long boat. Where were they going? Who were they? We may never know, but these carvings tell stories through art of the Pacific Islands of our past. In October, Bowers Museum welcomed a new exhibit called

Chinas Lost Civilization: The Mystery of Sanxingdui. This exhibit features treasures and riches from around the world and includes objects from the discovery termed "the ninth wonder of the world". It's known by many scholars as one of the greatest archaeological finds ever to be unearthed. Excavations at Sanxingdui reveal the remains of a refined

culture that were advanced in their bronze making abili-ties. These cast bronzes were far larger and stranger in ap-pearance than anything seen in another ancient world. The three largest masks are in the form of human heads with su-pernatural features such as large wing-like ears and much more. Other bronzes reveal traces of paint or are covered with gold. The Sanxingdui culture left no written record or human remains and appears to have existed for only about 350 years before it vanished.

This exhibit is one on the biggest and most notable exhibits that the bowers museum will be able to present. If you are looking some adventure and seeing history, take a trip to the Bowers Museum. I promise you wont regret your experience.

    ANAHEIM WHITE HOUSE RESTAURANT Gourmet Italian/Seafood Bistro | $$$ 887 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim 714-772-138 anaheimwhitehouse.com

Before even walking through the doors, arriving at the Anaheim White House Restaurant is already a special experi-ence. The National Historical Landmark building is unlike any other in the area, with its welcoming patio and regal faade outlined with hundreds of twinkle lights shining in the evening sky. Its the kind of place where everyone is treated like a spe-cial VIP guest, from the gracious host who greets you to the incredibly professional wait staff who cater to your every need, no matter how big or small.

Upon being seated we had the honor of being visited by the owner Bruno Sera-to, who educated us on the history of the restaurant, its authentic Italian influences, such as the one-of-a-kind wall murals, and all of the important people who have graced its tables. Even more impressive is the charity work that Bruno does with the underprivileged children in the Anaheim area. Each night he delivers fresh pasta to 1,000 children who wouldnt otherwise have food on their table, so every purchase made at this establishment helps keep this amazing program going. CNN, Peo-ple Magazine, and the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric have all reported on this ongoing outreach of community support that continues to do such good for the chil-dren of Orange County.

After this intellectual and spiritual education, we moved on to the culinary

schooling. We were treated to special appetizers ranging from a delicious and tender Carpaccio, to individualized sam-pler platters of their rich and flavorful pasta items. The wine selection is diverse and extensive, with enough selections to please even the pickiest of wine connois-seurs! The main course made for some tough choices, but everyone at our table was beyond pleased with their selections, which made for a lot of sharing and pass-ing around of plates. The waiters are all well-informed, and were able to explain in detail how each dish is prepared and offered good suggestions to the indecisive ones in our group. The fresh local vegeta-ble sides were a perfect companion to the meat and fresh seafood.

We didnt think wed have room for des-sert, until we saw the menu and (of course) had to order one of everything. Everyone left satisfied, and already planning our next excursion at the White House Restaurant.

Thanks to over 30,000 voters, Anaheim White House Restaurant was named in the 2013 OC Hot List as the Best Fine Dining in Orange County!

SELANNE STEAK TAVERN American Steakhouse | $$$ 1464 S. Coast Hwy., Laguna Beach 949-715-9881 selannesteaktavern.com

As I drove down Pacific Coast Highway the smell of the ocean air instantly hit me. With the ocean to the right of me, I re-membered why I love California so much. I got caught up in all the art shops, peo-ple and activity that surrounded me but I finally found my destination to Selanne Steak Tavern in Laguna Beach, California.

Owned by hockey legend and 2007 Stanley Cup winner and star player for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Teemu Selanne converted long time Laguna Beach eatery French 75 into Selanne Steak Tavern.

When I valet parked my car, I wasnt sure how formal Selanne Steak Tavern was going to be; as I walked in I instantly adored the look of the place. The inside of the restaurant looked like a house you would see in the Hamptons. When I say house, I real-ly mean house. This newly transformed restaurant was also a historic 1934 home. The inside features upstairs and down-stairs dining, a warm tavern-style bar and beautiful outdoor dining.

We checked in and immediately got seated upstairs. Selannes is upscale, but had a comfortable and inviting feeling. I didnt feel like it was over the top formal and maybe that had to do with the beach-comber vibe that was felt throughout the restaurant. If you are looking for hockey and Ducks memorabilia to grace the walls

of Selanne, think again. The walls are washed in gray, are adorned with art and black and white photographs.

We sat in front of the upstairs wine cellar that holds 500 bottles. As our wait-er noticed us admiring the wall of wines we got a lesson about Selannes extensive wine collection. Selannes has two other wine storage rooms and focus their wine

list primarily on Napa cult wines and wines from vineyards throughout Califor-nia. There approxi-mately 25 reasonable wines and The Black-List," which offers eight high-end, hard-to-find wines from around the world.

As we got settled and chatted over our drinks, our wait-er came back to explain the menu to us. Our waiter, Jesse, knew everything there was to know about the menu. Everything on the menu appeared grain-feed, free-range, organic, or freshly caught that very day. Jesse made everything seem too ap-pealing but didnt rush us, and his timing was impeccable.

We ordered our first course, Cream of Cauliflower and the Chef Signature Pacific Diver Scallops. We both immedi-ately took a bite and melted every time we ate some more. We switched plates, only to experience new flavors and tastes that popped in our mouths.

We finished the first course, only to be introduced next to palate cleanser held in a clear glass bowl with passion fruit sor-bet immersed in champagne.

The entrees came and we were blown away. The beef was so tender while the seafood was the freshest seafood I had ever tried. Yet again, we had to try each others meals and were taken back by the presentation and portion size. The veg-etables were Al La Carte and there was enough for four people. The entrees did not disappoint.

After dinner we had a cup of coffee and shared a dessert called Chocolate Deca-dence which was the conclusion of a fine meal.

After all was said and done, we walked out of the restaurant into the warm balmy summer night. We found our way back to the valet and as I got into the car, I noticed something on my dashboard, a quick Thank-you note from Selanne Steak Tavern with two-chocolate mints. A final touch of class that Selanne Steak Tavern provided for a perfect ending to our night.

    CHEESECAKEFACTORY American Cuisine | $$ 321 Katella Ave., Suite 100, Anaheim, CA 714.533.7500 | thecheesecakefactory.com

Dining at the Cheesecake Factory can be for any occasion. Thats what makes it so wonderful. You can be celebrating a birthday, anniversary, on a dinner date with that special someone or getting to-gether with your friends and family to have a great meal.

Since the Cheesecake Factory is known for their amazing cheesecakes, I thought Id give a quick background on how these amazing desserts started off. Evelyn Over-ton created her Original Cheesecake reci-pe that everyone loved. By the 1940s, she opened a small cheesecake shop in Detroit. Evelyn ended up closing the shop to raise her kids but moved her baking kitchen into her basement and continued to bake. In the 1970s, the moved their business to Los Angeles and opened a 700 square foot store, The Cheesecake Factory. By 1978, the Overtons son opened The Cheesecake Factory restaurant and set out to provide an innovative menu selection and comfort-able dining experience.

There are Cheese-cake Factorys all over the United States, so you might have one right in your backyard like I do. I had the opportunity to dine at the Cheesecake Fac-tory at the Anaheim Garden Walk in Ana-heim, California.

As soon as you walk in your attention immediately goes to rows of cheesecakes in the dessert case. They look so amazing, for a second you think of actually forgoing your meal and just having dessert, but then you snap back to reality and smell the aro-mas that fill the air.

In the evening, the Cheesecake Facto-ry becomes a bit more intimate with the dimmed lights. The ambiance completely changes from its daytime rush of guests. They do a perfect job of setting the scene for their evening guests. Although there might be the hustle and bustle the staff

taking care of their table, you feel like you're still in your own world.

We walked in and got seated and after some light small talk our waitress came by to take our orders. The Cheesecake Facto-ry has such an array of delectable cocktails that it was I had to try something different yet simple. I tried the Strawberry Marti-

ni that is infused with fresh strawberries. The Strawberry Martini was a treat for my taste buds. During our cocktails, we ordered our appetizer, and if you love avocados, you will love the Avocado

Eggrolls. It is a mix of avocado, sun-dried tomato, red onion and cilantro fried in a crisp wrapper, and its served with an amazing tamarind-cashew dipping sauce.

Next our main dishes came our I wanted to order something I had never tried be-foresomething new. So when my Hibachi Steak came out, I was totally blown away by the wafting sent of the hibachi steak, garlic mashed potatoes and tempura as-paragus. My guest got the Chicken Piccata. The aroma of the lemon and caperas from her pasta smelled amazing. As a side note, the portions are huge at the Cheesecake Factory. They do not cut back.

Finally, Dessert! Im a simple girl, and

Ive had my share of different and in-credible cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory. All of them are so delicious, but this time I decided to take the old favorite, The Original cheese-cake. My guest tried something totally scrumptious and just in time for the hol-idays, the Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake. If youre looking for a taste of the season and the holidays, then you must try this cheesecake.

We checked in at Graumans Chi-nese Theatre, and our day was already starting off with delight. The girls were mesmerized by all of the stars hand and footprints left in the cement. There seemed to be hundreds of them.

We boarded our big red bus and head-ed to the top level. My kiddos were so excited to see Hollywood. Heres just a taste of some of the awesome sights we experienced:

    - House of Blues Sunset Strip- Nickelodeon Studios- Millions of Milkshakes- LACMA- The Original Farmers Market- Pinks- Paramount Studios- Pantages Theatre, Hollywood- Hollywood Walk of Fame- Madame Tussauds Hollywood- And so much moreThe main Starline Tours terminal is

located at Graumans Chinese Theatre at 6925 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood.
