Christmas at Markey Church Christmas Greetings You are invited to post Christmas cards and greetings for your Markey Church family and friends on the bulletin board at the top of the stairs next to the sanctuary doors. We will keep them up through the month of December. Christmas Poinsettias Every Christmas, Markey Church likes to decorate the Sanctuary with poinsettias in honor or in memory of our loved ones. If you would like to bring in a poinsettia for decoration, we will need the plant along with a note containing your name, the name of your loved one, and a phone num-ber where we can contact you if necessary. They can be dropped off in the church office any time during office hours beginning Monday, December 15 and ending on Thursday, December 18. Christmas Eve at Markey Church 5:00 & 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 24 Join your Markey Church family on Christmas Eve to celebrate the culmination of Advent; God coming into the world, taking on human flesh and “moving into the neighborhood.” We’re offer-ing two identical gatherings this year, both approximately 60 minutes long. Bring your family and friends and let’s make this a Christmas Eve to remember! Holiday Sunday Worship Schedule Changes On Sundays, December 28 and January 4, there will be NO 8:30 worship, NO 9:45 am Fellowship time, and NO 10am Sunday School. Pastor David will lead ONLY an 11:00am worship gathering. Our regular Sunday schedule will resume on January 11, 2015! Church Office Holiday Break During the Holidays, between Christmas and New Years, the church office will be closed. Pam or Monica may stop in to check the answering machine and emails, but all our Church Staff will be taking the week off to enjoy time with family. The church office will close at Noon on Wednes-day, December 24, and will reopen on Monday, January 5. If you have an emergency during this time, you may contact Monica Lytle at 821-4070 or Pam Reicks at 821-8244. If it is not urgent, we ask that you send an email or leave a voicemail in the church office and we will respond when we return to work on Monday. End of the Year Giving We’ve had some amazing experiences within the life of Markey Church this year and we’re looking forward to a spectacular 2015! We’ll soon be inviting you to partner with us financially as we look to hire a Pastor of Family, Youth & Children next year, as well as participate in new and ongoing initiatives to help connect people to God and to each other. Please consider making an end of the year gift to Markey Church to help us bring the Gospel of Jesus to everyone in Roscommon Coun-ty! Be on the lookout in the coming days for a Letter from Pastor David with more specific details on how you can partner with Markey Church and help us end the year financially strong.

Claire’s Kitchen Scoop ♦ Our first Markey Feast was on Sunday, November 2 and we fed 107 people. The menu included
fresh fruit, cold cereal, yogurt, granola, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, bread pudding, toast, English muffins, bagels, cream cheese, juices, tea, coffee, hot choco-late, and milk. There were a few glitches, the warmer trays popped the electric breaker and the food cooled off, then we ran out of food too early, so we regrouped and made plans for a few changes for the December Feast.
♦ The December 7 Feast will have a new setup and new food choices including farm fresh eggs &
meats. Please come join us and tell your friends and neighbors about it, everyone is welcome to sit at our table!
♦ A HUGE thank you to all those that have pitched in to help, you are Christ in action!! ♦ If you have suggestions or special food needs, please see Claire or leave a note in her mailbox
in the church office. ♦ Bored? Lonely? Wondering what God wants you to do? Need a good laugh? Want to make new
friends? If you answered yes to any of these questions, come join the kitchen crew as we ac-cept our challenges and find our way through with love, laughter, and only a few tears (there are onions here). You do not need to have any special skills to help out, we offer on-the-job training! We also always need people to help set up, cleanup, and wash dishes. Come play with us in the kitchen and find the joy in being a necessary member of Christ’s Kingdom right here and now.
Grand Central: The Place for Bulletin Boards Over the coming weeks we’ll be making a concerted effort to make Grand Central the place for all bulletin board communication and activity. Be on the look out for a new Local & Global Mission board, a new Community Activities & Events board (please hang your flyers here for all things Ros-common County), as well as a rotating seasonal board highlighting a specific part of our seasonal life together. Podcasts Missed worship last week? Want to listen to it on your way to work? Podcasts are now available of Sunday Worship Services!
