Well what an exciting line-up to Christmas we have this year! As the Town Council is working hard behind the scenes to make our town look stunning for Christmas, I would like to urge you all to remember what great independent traders we have and I encourage you to ‘Shop Local’ this Christmas. Our festive proceedings, kick off with a bang, as we are promised a superb afternoon and evening of entertainment at our lights switch-on on Saturday 21st November. A packed programme includes performances from Nantwich performers Josh Whittaker and Young Voices, through to music to dance the night away to, from The Runaway Babies. There will be rides, treats and you may even spot a Frozen Character or Moving Tree about! This is a real family event compered by The Cat Radio, starting at 2pm and coming to a close with a musical firework extravaganza at 6.30pm! I am also delighted to announce North West Tonight’s Beccy Meehan will join me on stage to turn on the lights. Whilst Christmas is an exciting time, it is also a financial worry for many. So whilst out doing your Christmas shopping, can I ask you to pop an extra non-perishable item or two in your basket for those a little less fortunate. As you may be aware this year one of my charities is Nantwich Food Bank, and any items you may like to donate would be greatly appreciated. These can be taken to the Food Bank at Market Street Church or dropped off at Beswicks Legal, Beam Heath Business Park. I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year! Don’t miss Santa at Nantwich Market, 11am until 2pm every Saturday until Christmas from Saturday 21st November!

Here in Nantwich we are lucky enough to have a beautiful town, packed with an array of wonderful independent retailers. This year we are asking you to support these local businesses, especially at Christmas.

Whilst strolling around the shops you will find a variety of gifts for all the family, unique hand made items, the latest fashions and take time out to visit one the numerous Cafés selling home made food?

Nantwich Market boasts a wonderful selection of fresh produce, so why not stock up on those festive treats! You will find a great selection of cheese, fruit and vegetables, fish, meats and why not try something different this Christmas such as pigeon!

The market also offers an assortment of great gifts too from sweets, to children’s wooden puzzles, and car accessories through to baby clothes. You may even find those accessories you have been looking for that party outfit!

And talking of parties, are you looking to book an office party? Or maybe celebrate New Year’s Eve, our restaurants and pubs offer some great nights and the Civic Hall is a must for live music!
