We especially endeavor to foster spiritual growth and evangelization in our present and future generations by drawing parish members back to active participation.”

THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD (CHRISTMAS DAY)

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION St. Brigid Parish CCD students are having a Christmas Program THIS Sunday, December 21st, at Neumann Hall, Choconut, following 10:30AM Mass. All parishioners are invited to attend and enjoy the program. Each family is asked to help with refreshments by providing either a food or drink item for brunch. Please attend and celebrate this holy season with us.

Class will be held at the regular time. Those students who have already attended Mass may stay until the time of the play. (If a snow date is needed, the Christmas Program will be rescheduled for Sunday, January 4th, 2015.)

RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS

Thank you! “We can certainly call you friends because of the way you care for our retired members,” writes a religious brother. Your gift to last week’s collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious benefits some 35,000 senior sisters, brothers, and religious order priests. May God bless you for your generosity! Our collection total was $ 654.00.

PARISH LOTTERY CALENDARS Parish Lottery Calendars are available in the back of the Churches for Christmas gift giving. Again this year calendars are $ 20.00 each. They run from April 1st thru December 31st, 2015. Each family in our Parish is asked to take at least (5) calendars to sell. There are both packages of (5) calendars and loose (single) calendars available. (Please do not break up the packages.) You are asked to please sign the calendars out on the sign out sheet provided. Please help to make this very important fund raiser a success again this year!

TURKEYS—ALL SOLD!!!!!!!!! Thank you to everyone who purchased a turkey for themselves or for the Food Pantry. All of the turkeys are gone! Thank you for your help!

7TH ANNUAL CAR RAFFLE

Again this year the Catholic Schools of Broome County are having a Car Raffle Fund Raiser. There are three chances to win—1st prize—2015 Jeep Wrangler; 2nd prize—$ 1,000.00; and 3rd prize— $ 500.00. Tickets are $ 5.00 each or 5 for $ 20.00. The drawing will be held December 29th, 2014 at 3:00PM at Seton Catholic Central High School. Purchaser must be 18 years or older. CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION St. Brigid Parish CCD students are having a Christmas Program THIS Sunday, December 21st, at Neumann Hall, Choconut, following 10:30AM Mass. All parishioners are invited to attend and enjoy the program. Each family is asked to help with refreshments by providing either a food or drink item for brunch. Please attend and celebrate this holy season with us.

Class will be held at the regular time. Those students who have already attended Mass may stay until the time of the play. (If a snow date is needed, the Christmas Program will be rescheduled for Sunday, January 4th, 2015.)

RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS

Thank you! “We can certainly call you friends because of the way you care for our retired members,” writes a religious brother. Your gift to last week’s collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious benefits some 35,000 senior sisters, brothers, and religious order priests. May God bless you for your generosity! Our collection total was $ 654.00.

PARISH LOTTERY CALENDARS Parish Lottery Calendars are available in the back of the Churches for Christmas gift giving. Again this year calendars are $ 20.00 each. They run from April 1st thru December 31st, 2015. Each family in our Parish is asked to take at least (5) calendars to sell. There are both packages of (5) calendars and loose (single) calendars available. (Please do not break up the packages.) You are asked to please sign the calendars out on the sign out sheet provided. Please help to make this very important fund raiser a success again this year!

TURKEYS—ALL SOLD!!!!!!!!! Thank you to everyone who purchased a turkey for themselves or for the Food Pantry. All of the turkeys are gone! Thank you for your help!

ADVENT/CHRISTMAS CONFESSIONS & PENANCE SERVICES Advent/Christmas Confessions at our Churches will be as usual on the weekend.

A Penance Service will be held THIS Sunday, December 21st immediately following the 10:30AM Mass at St. Augustine Church. This will be your final opportunity to make Confessions until after Christmas. There will be no Confessions heard on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Cas will be saying the 4:30PM Christmas Eve Mass at St. Francis Church, the 6:30PM Christmas Eve Mass at St. Augustine Church and the 8:00AM Christmas Day Mass at St. Francis Church.

OFFERTORY ENVELOPES

2015 Offertory Envelopes are in the back of the Churches. They have (hopefully) been placed in the Church that you most frequently attend. If you can’t find yours, please call the parish office at (570)553-2288 and we will provide them for you. If you have never received envelopes in the past and would like to have them this year, please call the parish office. Use of the offertory envelope system makes our record keeping much easier.

END OF YEAR CONTRIBUTIONS Final contributions for 2014 should be made by Monday, January 12th, 2015. You can put them in the collection or mail them to the rectory.

REMINDER ABOUT SECOND COLLECTIONS Please remember that when there is a second collection, only the envelopes for the announced special collection should be put in the second collection basket. All other envelopes, offertory, insurance, building maintenance, utilities, fuel, candlemas, Easter flowers, etc., go in the first collection taken up. All checks for the second collection should be made out to St. Brigid Parish.

COMPLIMENTARY PARISH CALENDARS A limited number of complimentary Parish Calendars are available in the back of the Church.

CHOIR PRACTICE

Choir practice for Christmas will be held Tuesday evening, at 6:30PM in St. Francis Church. Please come join us and help make our Christmas Masses even more beautiful!

OPLATKI

Oplatki is the Traditional Christmas Wafer shared at Christmas Eve. Packages are available in the vestibules of our Churches for our Parishioners use.

CHRISTMAS FLOWER ENVELOPES Please remember that Christmas Flower Donation Envelopes are in your envelope boxes. A space is on the back for memorials. These donations help to pay the cost of the poinsettias that will adorn our Churches this Christmas Season.

CHRISTMAS GIFT CARDS AND/OR FOOD PANTRY We have (14) area families ranging in size from 1 person to 5 people, on our list to receive FOOD CARDS for CHRISTMAS. All donations for FOOD CARDS should be put in an envelope in the collection and marked “Attention Kay”. Donations are needed by no later than Monday, December 22nd. All donations are greatly appreciated. To date we have $ 870.00 or $ 62.14 per family. Thank you to everyone who donated so generously to the Food Pantry. Because of your kindness the Food Pantry was able to serve 250 people for Thanksgiving and 373 for the month of November. In December at least 250 were served for Christmas and at least 373 were served for the month. Thank you so much to everyone who donated and GOD BLESS YOU!

HOT CHOCOLATE COLLECTION

Thank you everyone for the donations of hot chocolate. We just reached our goal in time. Thank you for your generosity!

ALTAR & ROSARY MEETING/CHRISTMAS PARTY Thank you to all the ladies who brought food for the Christmas Party. Thank you to all the bakers who made baked goods for the Sunshine Baskets. A total of (22) baskets were backed. Thank you to everyone for your help. A good time was had by all. Merry Christmas!

Thank you to those who have already made the commitment to join in “Transforming Lives Together.” If you did not already make a pledge, envelopes are available in the back of the Churches for your pledge. Completed pledges may be placed in the collection basket or mailed to the Rectory. St. Brigid Parish Appeal goal is $ 24,000.00. Currently we have (98) pledges for a total of $ 16,811.00. We are under our goal by $ 7,189.00. Each gift truly matters. If you have not yet made your gift, and need a pledge envelope, envelopes are available in the back of the Church.
