Message from Father Peter Happy Advent, Today we celebrate the fourth Sunday in Advent, and as advent weeks go...it will be a short week. For those of you that need to take a breath, I would invite you now to slow down. Just stop what you are doing, try to block out the noise, and breath. Feel the rhythm....pause....and think of baby Jesus. A little over 2,000 years ago, God came to earth, took flesh, and dwelt among us. God chose to become man so that man could reconcile with God. The world was full of sin, and God came without sin. Jesus was born, and the light shined through the darkness. When we think of Jesus, we remember the baby lying in the manger. We think of Him pure and innocent; the holy Child of God. We think of Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and their sheep, the wise men and their gifts, and the angels singing on high. We think of the manger scene and all its glory. Into a dark world, God has blessed us with a reason to love. He has blessed us with the baby Jesus. As I look at our world today, I see a tremendous need to fall in love with Jesus again this year at Christmas. I look at the world and I see a void, and the void is Jesus. Jesus used to be part of our everyday lives. Some of you might remember when prayer was allowed in public school. We pushed Jesus out and tried to fill this space with other things, and the void was created. Nothing can take the place of Jesus. May God bless you this Christmas and begin to fill the void. We need Jesus! ~Blessings, Fr. Peter December 23, 2012 Fourth Sunday of Advent Contact Information Pastoral Staff…………….…...Fr. A Prayer for Christmas -Robert Louis Stevenson

Oh, God, our loving Father, help us rightly to remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and the worship of the wise men. May Christmas morning make us happy to be your children and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and for-given, for Jesus’ sake. ~Amen

Prayer for Mourners O Lord, whose ways are beyond understanding,

listen to the prayers of your faithful people:

at the loss of their children may find

reassurance in your infinite goodness.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

~Amen

We go through life so often, not stopping to enjoy the day. And we take each one for granted, as we travel on our way.

For in our pain and sorrow an Angel’s Kiss will help us through. This kiss is very private, for it is meant for only you.

We never stop to measure, anything we just might miss. But if the wind should blow by softly, you’ll feel an Angel’s kiss.
