The Sacrament of Holy Communion
Communion in the United Methodist Church is open to all who love Jesus, who earnestly re-pent of their sin, and who seek to live in peace with one another. After the ministers have consecrated the elements, the ushers will direct you in coming forward for Communion, which will be by the method of intinction. After you receive Communion and pray, please accept a candle which will be offered to you by the ushers as you move back to your seat. If you are unable to come forward, please signal to an usher and the Sacrament will be brought to you at your seat.
.
The Light Shared
Candlelight Service
The ministers will light their candles from the Christ Candle. They will, in turn, with the help of our ushers, light the candles for worshippers at the end of each row. Each worship-per will turn and light the candle of the person seated next to them. After all candles are lit, we will stand and sing “Silent Night, Holy Night”. On the third verse, let us all raise our candles high.
*Hymn Silent Night Hymnal 239
Silent night, holy night. All is calm, all is bright. Round yon virgin, mother and child. Holy infant so tender and mild.
Sleep in heavenly peace. Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night. Shepherds quake at the sight. Glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born. Christ the Savior is born.
Silent Night! Holy Night! Son of God, love’s pure light; Radiant beams from thy holy face. With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth. Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
Silent night, holy night. Wondrous star, lend thy light. With the angels let us sing, Alleluia to our King.
Christ the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born!
*Benediction *Postlude Joy to the World Arr. Don Hustad
*Please stand as you are able.
