Dates to Remember
The cooler, wet weather has arrived and with it comes the
proverbial question from many students, “Is it going to be an
inside day at recess and/or lunch today?”
Invariably, the response is likely to be no. Un-
less it is raining very heavily, students will be going outside at
recess and lunch to play.
We thank you for ensuring that your
child (ren) come to school dressed for the
weather.
At Kelly Creek, we appreci-
ate the wonderful outdoor play are-
as we have and the value of fresh air
activity for all our students.
Dress for the Weather!
The Ministry of Education has added two non-instructional
days where students will not be in session. These days have
been set aside for teachers to plan for the implementation of the
new Provincial Curriculum and are in addition to the current
Professional Development set in our school calendar.
The two additional dates are:
Monday, February 15, 2016 and Friday,
April 15, 2016
Thank you.

School District Calendar Changes
Dear Parents,
The fall of 2015 has been a particularly
positive and active one for our school.
Our entire staff has provided innova-
tive and exciting learning opportunities for
our students.
We are very fortunate to have a wonderful,
dedicated and talented staff and a highly supportive school
community of parents. Together we continue to provide an
excellent partnership between home and school.
Thank you to all staff and parents! As this will be
the last notice home prior to the holidays, we would like
to extend to each of you sincere best wishes for a wonderful
holiday season and a prosperous and successful year in 2016.
Sincerely,
Mr. B. Rounis

Because it’s that delightful!
School closed December 19th and reopens January 4th.
A day is quite awesome when you can

bright colours, or pretty little birds—all is welcome through the
halls of Kelly Creek, December 16.

On December 1st we were lucky to have hosted the four scien-
tists from the Vancouver Aquarium with the Aquavan. In the
morning our classes had a tour of animals from the Northern
Hemisphere. In the afternoon we did some hands on dis-
secting of squid. A wonderful day of
learning! Here are some photos.
We are very excited to announce that our music teacher Ms.
Skidmore will be offering Choir classes from 8 - 8:30am on
Tuesday mornings.
Please drop off and enter through the
Primary classroom entrance.
