Karen Stevens, director o student servicesat Washington Community High School, saidshe was taught it takes three years to have atrend in anything.
Come next all, District 308 might betrending as a ailing school, according to theNo Child Let Behind Act o 2001.
For the second year in a row, the districtailed to meet the Adequate Yearly Progresspercentages in both reading and mathemat-ics.
The 2011 Illinois District Report Cardshows the district had 60.5 percent o itsstudents meet or exceed AYP standards inreading and 60.1 percent in mathematics the goal or 2011 was 85 percent in bothsubjects.
The 2011 junior class tested 273 students. Not only did the districts scores not meet
AYP standards or 2011, the scores were sev-eral percentage points lower than the resultsrom the 2010 tests overall 64.6 percent inreading and 63.4 percent in math.
The goal or 2010 was 77.5 percent. The data shows us that the scores were
down this year a little bit compared to lastyear they werent a signicant drop, but
denitely a drop-of, Stevens said. There could be multiple reasons or that.
