One King!
Two king!
Three King!
WBC Cares Cancun By Jill Diamond, Chair.
When we visited the students at APAFHDEM, I realized something I’d felt before but couldn’t express. Many
organizations are snacks while we, at the WBC, are a full meal! With WBC Cares, you give directly to the
people who need you, and you are instantly filled with their love and gratitude. ¡Tengo hambre por más! I am
constantly in awe of our members and the new ways they come up with to help others.
United We sold the cookies they made.
We learned from each other. Most of all, we were all champions!
Sparkle Boxing’s School Drive
In Philadelphia, we sent banners, back packs, school
supplies, patches and giveaways to Sparkle Boxing to
help needy students prepare for their school year.
This was a joint effort by our team, especially
Michael and Ruthie Tate, and the group leader,
Kymmberly Stowe.
FSS Made Her Life Better
An event took place on 30th October with Big Joe Egan, Scott Welch and Steven Bendall for the benefit of
Rachin’s sister who was in a hospital in San Diego. Supporting the night were Mike Ross, Robert Jackson,
Ian Squire, John Snook and Denise Mellor, Sally McCarthy, Bernie Mendieta, Liam Barker, WBC title
holders, and David Walker. They raised £3,500. The WBC cares patches were sewn on to the guy’s shorts.
This was all organized and brought about by Marc Smith, FSS Boxing and his team of Pure Warriors. What an
amazing group to have in your corner!
Brian Reynolds, WBC Ambassador
Brian is one of the WBC’s youngest WBC Cares Ambassadors. Like Monique McClaine before him, he
gained confidence and community through boxing, Brian has now found a path through his sport and his
intellect. This extraordinary young man is turning hardship into history and taking us with him. Enjoy his
story.
Ambassador REYNOLDS
Texas, USA
I am Brian Reynolds and I recently moved from
Houston, where I starting boxing at the George
Foreman Youth Center, to Las Vegas to train full-
time with Jeff Mayweather and Mike McCallum with
the high aspiration of making the 2016 Olympic
Boxing Team. It was because I had been bullied that
I was introduced to martial arts in order to learn to
defend myself, and subsequently boxing. I had
actively participated in anti-bullying campaigns so
when I learned about the WBC Cares and World
Champions Against Bullying, I immediately wanted
the opportunity to interview boxers, members, and
attendees of the WBC conference about their
experiences with bullying and violence.
I had already interviewed most of the International
Hall of Fame boxing legends about what they were
doing when they were my age at the WBC Hublot
event in Las Vegas so I knew that I would enjoy the
WBC 50th Anniversary conference in honor of
Muhammad Ali. I believe that people feel
Comfortable with me and tend to open up more easily
because of my age and because I share similar
experiences. Through my interviews, I hope to
appeal to a younger audience, talk about issues that
teens are experiencing today, and introduce the
younger generation to the world of boxing.
programa WBC Cares and World Champions Against
Congratulations to Sulaiman from the White House

Costa Rica Cares!
WBC Cares and the WBC made its second appearance in Costa Rica supporting and hosting an amateur
boxing event in the country. The event came about purely by accident as the San Jose boxing team and their
coach; Ricardo Jimenez Leition, decided to conduct an amateur boxing event in my honor. Since amateur
boxers usually receive medals only during the country's national amateur boxing championships, or if there is
a rare sponsor medals are provided only to the winners, thus I came up with the idea to provide medals for all
participants at this amateur boxing event. However, before I could purchase the medals, and plaques, the
WBC office stepped up and decided to support this event by creating special medals and plaques to
commemorate this WBCares event that was held at Plaza Viquez, San Jose, Costa Rica. In addition, former
WBC light heavyweight champion Donny Lalonde and his wife Christi committed to attending this event
which made it even more special. There was a total of 25 action packed bouts between boxing teams from the
provinces of San Jose and Alajuela. When these young athletes saw what these special WBCares medals
looked like, each boxer both male and female gave everything they had to win one of these special medals.
The WBC created a special plaque to honor the head coach of San Jose Ricardo for his tireless efforts and
dedication to amateur boxing in Costa Rica. God willing, and with the support of both the WBCares, and the
WBC, we look forward as do these young athletes to conducting this event again in 2013…puravida!! Zac

Tragedy In Our Community
When one of ours is in need, we
are there. The WBC helped pay

card and was a fighter on Todo
Contra Mexico. She is also a
model and associate of Gleason’s
Gym. We extend our hearts and
prayers to her and her family.

Tips That Might Save Your Life
The WBC wants you to enjoy your holiday… but always be aware! Stay alert, keep safe, and look out for
your neighbors!
1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The Elbow is the strongest point on your body, if you are close enough to use
it, Do!
2. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, Do Not Hand It To Him, Toss it away from you.
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the
hole and start waving like crazy.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars and just sit (doing their checkbook, etc. No! As Soon As You
Get Into Your Car, Leave!
5. Always take the elevator instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect
crime spot.
6. The predator has a gun and you are not under his control, Always Run! The predator will only hit you 4 in
100 times, (a running target); and even then it most likely, Will Not be a vital organ. Run, preferably in a zig -
zag pattern!
7. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: Stop! It may get you raped or killed.
8. Do Not Open the Door at Night to Strange Sounds, Call the Police!
9. Water scam! If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you
think is a burst pipe, Do Not Go Out To Investigate!
Your safety is important to US!!!
Bruce Mctavish, WBC Cares Award Winner
When this Ref isn’t in the ring, chances are he’s
regulating life at the Angeles Bahaiy Bata Center in
the Philippines. Bruce is a hands-on, hardworking
member of the board. Here at the Center they house
and school some of the most difficult and saddest
cases. Left on their own, these children’s lives would
be dismal. Bruce and his group provides them
education, medicine and shelter. We had the
privilege of visiting with them at our convention in
Manila. We are so proud Bruce is on our team.

sometimes inoperable diseases. She has started her own program, which you can see on her Facebook page.

three months and wants to help others by using physical exercise, nutrition, relaxation therapy and anti aging
systems. All this and raising three little boys.
Update On Gerald Mcclellan

champions. He hopes to sell it and give the proceeds
to Gerald.

Mexico. He has made a diligent study of their needs and the gyms available to them. We applaud him!
Dear Jose, Mauricio and Jill,
Here is a link of a few pictures from Emanuel's memorial. First of all let me say that the family was very
happy and honored to have received Emanuel's belt. Marie kept saying how beautiful it was. The belt was
presented to her on behalf of the WBC, Jose Sulaiman President. We had it in the front pew for viewing and
hundreds paused to see it and take photos. The family was very gracious and placed both Chuck and I in the
program and we were both allowed to speak about Emanuel, the number of speakers was limited so Chuck and
I were very honored. Following my speech I rang as I have done too many times in the past for Michigan
boxing people the Traditional 10 count. Emanuel will truly be missed.
