Letter from Editor Hi all! MERRY CHRISTMAS! It was such a joy meeting with your clubs last month and there will certainly be more visits to come in the future! I hope everyone is geared up for Christmas, especially all the service projects it comes with! December is a very important month, the deadline to turn in dues has passed, and the deadline to turn in Trick or Treat for UNICEF money is coming up! (December 31st). I know this month is especially stressfully with buying presents, family activities, finals week, Key Club getting into gear, etc. this is all really overwhelming!

WE ARE IMPLEMENTING A NEW SYSTEM
Change is good, especially when it comes in the form of rewards. Orca Points are points rewarded to clubs for different reasons:
→ 30 pts. for reports turned in on time(that includes the Secretary, President, and Historian).
→ 10 pts. to every member who comes to a DCM.
→ 15 pts. for every member who comes and helps with the Divisional Service Project.
→ 2 pts. For every dollar raised for the Eliminate Project
→ 15 pts. to every member who comes to a Kiwanis DCM.
→ 15 pts. if you go another Key Club Event.
At the end of my term (beginning of April), the club that has received the most Orca points will get a huge Pizza and Cookie party!! And when I say big, I mean big.
*I will continue to come up with stuff you can get points from. If you are curious how your club is doing, just contact me.
COMPETITIONYa, that’s still going on. And it will continue to go on until January 1st. Anyone can submit a design! Winner will receive a homemade batch of cookies, muffins, a free shirt of their design, a basket of prizes, and recognition. Just remember:
→ Design will be used to represent our division at DCON.
→ Only design for the front of the T-Shirt.
→ Our mascot is the Orca.→ Colors are black and
white. → Our Division is 42 WA/OR. → You can submit as many
designs are you would like. (Go cray-cray, e.g. an Orca with lasers out of its eyes dancing on a moose).
→ Submissions can be in any form.

DISTRICT CONVENTION
Pacific Northwest District Key Club65th Annual
When: April 4th-April 6th, 2014
Where: Seattle! This year, we have the luxury of staying at
the Seattle Sheraton Hotel and hosting DCON at the
Washington State Convention Center! New year, new venue.
Why: This is where the entire district gets together. It’s here you make those long lasting
friendships, learn more service ideas, show your divisional
pride, and much, much more.
How much fun you will have: How about we just aim low and
say a ton? Because that’s already a given.
Remember: Joseph Vincent is the show performer! Check him
out on YouTube.
And never forget: This is where you run for a District-level
position as well as endorsement for an
International position.
As Service Leadership Programs Subcommittee Member for The Eliminate Project, along with Gary Cheng, I would like to remind you that in these next few
days, it is important to turn in any funds you are holding for The Eliminate Project. Trick or Treat for UNICEF is one of the biggest monetary pushes for
Service Leadership Programs’ and Kiwanis International. Make sure to use the giving form that is on the website, you also received one with whatever
fundraising materials you have received. Trick or Treat for UNICEF is finished on December 31st, and for many of us, school gets out much sooner than that. So
send in those forms before break starts!
Thank you all so much for your incredible efforts, together we can eliMiNaTe Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus!
