Use of Lighting: Having the natural light contribute to the high key lighting effect we were trying to achieve, was very helpful. In this shot you can see a pull focus of the video game console and the controller. This effect is used to create an impact on the audience and immediately draw their attention in as to what the documentary might be about.

Use of Shot Type: The shot type we used is a pull focus; first focusing on the video game controller and then on the video game itself. It is also a close up.

Use of Location: Documentary films conventionally use the location of their respective topic. In our case, it is about the social effects of video gaming and focuses in on students, therefore, the location we used is our school.

Use of Props: We used the video game console and the video game controller as the main symbol throughout the whole of the documentary.

Use of Lighting: Having the natural light contribute to the high key lighting effect we were trying to achieve, was very helpful. In this shot you can see a mid close up of the main actor (Duncan) pouring himself a cup of coffee. This is done show the audience that the main character is relatable to them and mainly to any students.

Use of Shot Type: The shot type we used is a mid close up. It is also taken from behind the actor to show a different perspective.

Use of Costume/Props: We used all the equipment needed to make a coffee here and the main actor’s costume is a dark green casual pullover.

In our case, it is about the social effects of video gaming and focuses in on students, therefore, the location we used is our school. This shot is specifically captured on the 6th form common room: a place used to relax and unwind during free periods.

Use of Props: The prop used here is a coffee mug displaying the main character performing normal every day acts reminding the audience that everyone does share similar things no matter what their interests are.
