OriginalsOriginal liners help maximize performance. DeLaval original liners are made from some of the best rubber compound available. Their softness plus elasticity are adapted to the milking machine and cows’ teats – optimally stimulating the cow to help you achieve high milk production. Tests show DeLaval original liners can give up to 500 ml. more milk per cow, per day, than non-original liners.

Liners are in closest contact to your cows, but often furthest from your mind. This is why we’d like to remind you about the major benefits of using original liners and replacing them regularly. An ergonomic study, conducted by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, shows that using a lightweight tube has the same positive effect

observed when the Harmony cluster was first introduced. The total workload when milking is reduced by 15 percent. This reduces milker stress and helps

DeLaval PVC tubing

PVC tubing is often used by farmers who want a basic and reliable

solution. If you want to see the milk flow, PVC tubing might be what you

want. PVC tubing has high flexibility and fits DeLaval milking equipment

perfectly.

Made from high grade PVC with a slight blue colour, the tube has smooth

inner and outer surfaces. These surfaces facilitate cleaning and help

maintain a low bacterial count.

DeLaval PVC milk tubes are marked with two blue stripes to signal the

compliancy for contact with food (milk). DeLaval twin pulse tube is marked

Udder HealthControlling mastitis is a complex business and is linked to a wide range of variables on the farm. The most critical aspect of mastitis control is correct care of the udder and teat before and after milking.

Correct spraying, foaming or dipping of teats with a germicide before and after milking have been proven to reduce the incidence of infection by both environmental and contagious mastitis bacteria. Teat dips come as either concentrated products that require dilution before use or as ready-to-use (RTU) products that are pre-mixed with water. This way we are able to accomodate every farmer’s unique need and situation.

Make drinking easy and convenientCows drink fast – up to 5 gallons per minute. If they don’t have easy access to clean, fresh water, their water intake may fall off and their milk yield could suffer. For example, a 40 percent reduction in water intake can cut milk production by 25 percent. Cows like to drink when they eat and just after milking. When allowed a choice, cows often prefer to stand or walk on a rubber surface rather than on concrete. TechTalk: Viscosity

What is viscosity?

The viscosity of a liquid can be thought of as its ‘thickness’

or resistance to flow. The viscosity of liquids decreases as

temperature increases. The viscosity of a lubricant is closely

related to its ability to reduce friction. In an oil, viscosity must be

high enough to maintain a lubricating film, but low enough that

the oil can flow around the engine parts under all conditions.

The goal? Constant stable lubrication.

Why is a higher viscosity index a good thing?

The viscosity index is a measure of how much the oil’s viscosity

remains stable as temperature changes. A higher viscosity

index means more constant lubrication across a range of

temperatures.
