Dearest Delegates,

It is my greatest pleasure to share a few words with you and welcome you to the XII Czech Forum Jihlava. I want to thank you that you took a chance with us and decided to step out of your comfort zones and come to Jihlava. I am extremely happy that the day we will meet is approaching so quickly!

The amazing Organising Team led by Anička Kremláčková and Jan Nathaniel Čamaj is working hard on making the se-ssion an unforgettable experience for you. The Media Team led by Olga Pexídrová and Adam Motloch cannot wait to sha-re with you the news articles, photos and videos, which you can take home and share with your friends.

And we, the Chairs’ Team, are very happy that you are taking this violet route with us. As this will, for many of you, be the first ever experience with EYP, we are making sure to work on creating unique and extravagant memories for you. Start ge-tting excited already – it will be mind-blowing!

I am looking forward to talking to you throughout the session about the many different possibilities EYP can offer you. The-refore, please do not hesitate to stop and chat with me. The session and the Officials are here for you, so do not be afraid to use it all to its fullest!

I cannot wait to see you in Jihlava soon!

Dearest Delegates,

On behalf of the whole Organising Team, we would like to express the warmest welcome to all of you who will participate in the XII Czech Forum Jihlava.

By reading these lines, you belong to the 77 selected individuals to participate in the session and you should know that not every person your age has the opportunity to experience such an event and do something for themselves in their free time. You have chosen to sacrifice some of your time to become Delegates and have a great advantage in comparison to other people your age. Please bear this in mind throughout the whole session.

Jihlava is a historical city right in the middle of the Czech Republic, situated at the border that separates Bohemia and Moravia. We could write pages and pages on why we chose this city as a place for hosting the session; however, the most important fact about Jihlava that you currently need to be aware of is that it is the place you will spend four days at, which can bring you heaps of unforgettable experiences.

As we said before, the session is a great opportunity for you. Not only will you be able to meet new pe-ople, find more friends and speak a foreign language for the whole time, but also you will have a great chance to push your boundaries further, develop your skills and make huge effort to show what you are capable of. Since you are not at school and do not have to sit at a desk, the XII Czech Forum Jihlava will most probably be your first step into a whole new sphere, where you do not have to be shy when expre-ssing your opinions and ideas, and your efforts will not be assessed by anyone, because at the session it is only up to you how you make your path until the very end.

You are now looking at the Delegates’ Booklet, which is one of the many documents you will get in touch with throughout this experience. Just as many other things, this document was created and brought to you by the session Organisers. The Organisers will be those who will oversee all the necessities as far as people’s needs are concerned and they will be there for each and every one of you.

We would like to end our message with an idea you should all stick to the whole time in Jihlava and before the session as well.

The way you will participate in the session is in your hands and your hands only, since it is only your path. However be aware that the easiest way is always the least beneficial for anyone. Because you are mainly supposed to enjoy the session, do so while being active, speaking out and speaking up, and standing for your ideas. Only that way you will enjoy the session as much as possible.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all in Jihlava and we hope that the session will overco-me your expectations as well as it will overcome conventions.

Yours sincerely,

Anna & NathanielHead Organisers

WORDS OF WELCOME FROM THEEDITORS Dear Delegates,

On behalf of the Media Team, we would like to express our im-patience to meet you in a short time in Jihlava. The name of our media team is Spine for several reasons. Firstly, if we focus on the history of the beautiful city Jihlava, we immediately no-tice the symbol of the hedgehog in the coat of arms. Therefore, hedgehog’s spines should represent our connection to the ci-ty’s history. Secondly, spine for us has a metaphorical meaning as it is the axis of the body of large number of living creatures. Just like the body’s spine connects individual components, the Media Team of XII Czech Forum Jihlava is prepared to associate different parts of the session.

Our goal is to maintain the high academic level of the session; however, we wish to keep the balance of the fun prepared for you! The Media Team is here to secure your entertainment and inform you about the session’s affairs.

Yours,

Olga and AdamEditors

ABOUT THE EYPEuropean Youth Parliament (EYP) is a non-go-vernmental organisation acting as a platform for the young people from 40 European count-ries to discuss European matters. It is operated entirely by the young people and aims to make youth interested in the current European is-sues. This enables young Europeans to become active citizens, while developing their commu-nicative and teamwork skills.

Each member country of the EYP has its own National Committee, so does the Czech Re-public. Every year, each National Committee organises several events, called sessions, which follow a similar programme and usually dif-fer in length. The Czech Forum is one of such events and aims to introduce the students to the concept of EYP through Teambuilding, Czech Village, Committee Work and General Assembly. During this session, the Delegates will be divided into 7 committees to discuss 7 different topics currently in the spotlight of Eu-ropean politics. Each committee will be led by two Chairpersons helping the delegates to con-struct their solution to the problem in the form of a resolution. At the end of the session, each committee will present their resolution at the General Assembly to the other committees fo-llowed by discussions.

ABOUT THE SESSION MOTTOChallenges, development, finding brand new solutions that are much better than the ones we have already, reaching beyond one’s limits. Improving what can be improved with creati-vity and sustained critical thinking permeating through our minds.

All these elements were taken and blended into the motto of the XII Czech Forum Jihlava

The session’s motto will be a base for all the events within the session and the additional programme as well.

ABOUT THE CITY OF JIHLAVAWelcome to Jihlava, a city on the historical bor-der between Bohemia and Moravia and with a hedgehog on its coat of arms!

The tribes who founded Jihlava in the 12th century named the city Iglau (Igel – hedgehog, Germ.) after a big population of hedgehogs li-ving around. The city is the oldest mining town in the Czech Republic, famous also for the coffee brand Jihlavanka and boasting of its beautiful historical city centre.

This November, Jihlava will host you and other participants of the XII Czech Forum so you can immerse yourself into the passionate debates, develop your skills and make new friends.

‘Broadening horizons, overcoming conventions.’

SESSION VOCABULARY

Page 9: Delegates' Booklet | XII Czech Forum Jihlava 2015

ANNA KREMLÁČKOVÁ (HEAD ORGANISER)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE VIOLET OBJECT?It is impossible to choose only one if you have more violet than non-violet things. But proba-bly my violet laptop case, which was one of the very first violet things I have ever had.

HOW MANY HEDGEHOGS HAVE YOU MET IN YOUR LIFE?Eight, including four baby hedgehogs <3

WHAT MAKES ORGANISING THIS SESSION SO EXCITING FOR YOU?Overall, everything. Especially the moments, when dreams and ideas drawn almost a year ago come true and become so real. I am really delighted to have an opportunity to work with such an amazing team of inspiring, driven and enthusiastic people.

JAN NATHANIEL ČAMAJ (HEAD ORGANISER)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE VIOLET OBJECT?A memo notepad with a violet band around it which I was presented with last Christmas. So afraid to write inside not to spoil it with random gibberish, which I might regret later on.

HOW MANY HEDGEHOGS HAVE YOU MET IN YOUR LIFE?Three. Only one cute direct encounter though. The others were either too far or too scared.

WHAT MAKES ORGANISING THIS SESSION SO EXCITING FOR YOU?Not only is the session rooted deep inside my heart and has been my dream ever since Anna and I applied to head-organise it, but also I am excited about the whole team of people I have been so far honoured to be a part of. As the time goes by, the whole idea is thus far just a little ight coming closer as well. I believe that the light of the XII Czech Forum Jihlava will shine so bright that it will be a remarkable and asto-nishing experience for everyone involved.

THE PEOPLE OF THE XII CZECH FORUM

THE CHAIRS’ TEAM

THE MEDIA TEAM

THE ORGANISERS’ TEAM

Chairpersons or Chairs lead their committees and are there to guide the Delegates in their task of creating the resolution. The Chairs’ Team is led by the Session President as well as the Vice-Presidents.

Media Team Members are there to preserve the memories of the session and document all in-teresting moments, at which you can look back after it is over. The Media Team is led by the Edi-tors.

The Organisers or Orgas are people behind the curtains of the session, they make sure eve-rything runs smoothly, all participants have enough food, do not get lost and have fun in the evenings. The team of Organisers is led by the Head Organisers, who have ultimately created the session from nothing.

TOMÁŠ FOSTER (CATERING SUPPORT)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE VIOLET OBJECT? My violet tie, which I really like and love to wear.

HOW MANY HEDGEHOGS HAVE YOU MET IN YOUR LIFE?Only one unfortunately :(

WHAT MAKES ORGANISING THIS SESSION SO EXCITING FOR YOU?The amazing team of people that I am working with in the Orga Team.

MICHAELA KADLECOVÁ (TRAVEL SUPPORT)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE VIOLET OBJECT?Definitely my violet pyjamas. I simply spent the best time with it and I cannot imagine not retur-ning to it every evening.

HOW MANY HEDGEHOGS HAVE YOU MET IN YOUR LIFE?I remember meeting two of them, but unfor-tunately they were not as happy seeing me as I was. However, our session hedgehog Hubert is extremely cute and my best hedgehog friend, no doubt.

WHAT MAKES ORGANISING THIS SESSION SO EXCITING FOR YOU?I cannot find the words to describe how much I adore working with my splendid Orgateam. My motivation is to see every participant happy and full of excitement.

NINA DJUKANOVIĆ (CULTURAL PROGR-AMME SUPPORT)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE VIOLET OBJECT?I cannot live without my violet canvas bag from People in Need. It has hilarious print on it.

HOW MANY HEDGEHOGS HAVE YOU MET IN YOUR LIFE?I was really close to one when I was little. Pa-rents did not let me cuddle with him so they got me hedgehog-stuffed toy for my birthday. He had a tiny mushroom in his hand. Extremely adorable.

WHAT MAKES ORGANISING THIS SESSION SO EXCITING FOR YOU?It is my first session as an organiser, therefo-re I am super-excited, but also a bit nervous. Fortunately, there are wonderful people in our Orga Team and I absolutely love them.

JAKUB MRAKAVA (IT SUPPORT)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE VIOLET OBJECT?There are actually two violet things I love, my new t-shirt and my old plastic folder, both with special emotional bond to me.

HOW MANY HEDGEHOGS HAVE YOU MET IN YOUR LIFE?I have met many of them during night watches at camps, but mostly just hearing their loud walk, which made me a bit scared of them. But soon we became friends as we met face to face.

WHAT MAKES ORGANISING THIS SESSION SO EXCITING FOR YOU?EYP CZ, Czech forum, participants, the whole team and especially the Orga Team, all these are undoubtable reasons for this session to digg to the very bottom of my heart.

Page 11: Delegates' Booklet | XII Czech Forum Jihlava 2015

MAREK HAISL (VENUES SUPPORT)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE VIOLET OBJECT?Nike violet football shoes. (Also it is the only vio-let thing I own.)

HOW MANY HEDGEHOGS HAVE YOU MET IN YOUR LIFE?Six. My foot had one quite unpleasant meeting with a sea hedgehog (urchin) if that counts. The rest of them were either a stuffed toy or in the zoo.

WHAT MAKES ORGANISING THIS SESSION SO EXCITING FOR YOU?I can hardly describe how huge is my passion for organising and what it all means to me. Yet each time it is different and that is what makes it always exciting – innovations, new challen-ges, new people...

JANA SLESARENKO (DELEGATES SUP-PORT)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE VIOLET OBJECT?My violet dancing dress, which I have inherited from my mom.

HOW MANY HEDGEHOGS HAVE YOU MET IN YOUR LIFE?A lot, but our meetings sadly never grew into friendships, as the hedgehogs were too scared of me.

WHAT MAKES ORGANISING THIS SESSION SO EXCITING FOR YOU?The challenge, the responsibility and the orga team.

ANETA ŠERÁKOVÁ (CJS SUPPORT)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE VIOLET OBJECT?Right now it is my violet pen, which I bought recently. I am kind of obsessed with pens, so I have to have one for every occasion and I bou-ght this one for Jihlava.

HOW MANY HEDGEHOGS HAVE YOU MET IN YOUR LIFE?Two, both of them this summer. The first one was rather scared, but the second one came quite close to me, so I thought we could be fri-ends, but then it ran away...

WHAT MAKES ORGANISING THIS SESSION SO EXCITING FOR YOU?Definitely Orga Team, my fellow Orgas are really amazing people and I love working with them. Also seeing the session come alive, when we brainstorm new ideas and just knowing that we are creating something real.
