VANMAHOTSAV If you cut a tree, you kill a life, If you save a tree, you save a life, If you plant a tree, you plant a life.

DPSGI realizes the importance of trees and thus as a part of the Environment Week, the students of the “Green Bough” Club gathered at Govindpuram residential colony to spread awareness about the

importance of trees in our lives. A plantation drive was organized by the green crusaders of the school

wherein they planted saplings and spoke to the people about how it is the responsibility of each one of us

to plant at least one tree to do our bit towards conserving the environment and saving our planet. The

students also enthusiastically cycled and skated through the colony holding placards displaying the

messages of saving water, saving environment. The students also presented a wonderful Nukkad-Natak to show their concern towards the environment.

They gave a loud and clear message for all to save the environment not just to save ourselves but also the

future generations. They distributed the paper and cloth bags made by them earlier in the week, amongst

the shopkeepers and residents of the area. The initiative was lauded by the RWA and residents.

NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE VISIT Research in education has shown that children remember field trips long into adulthood. Field trips give students

educational experiences away from their regular school environment. Our Students got the opportunity for

experiential learning so as to broaden their thinking, exposure and experience. A day trip to National Science

Centre, New Delhi was organized by school on 17 July,2019 where students from class VI to VII enjoyed the Solo

show, Science on Sphere Show and Science Magic Tricks. They experienced different Science phenomenon and

explored various 3D models which enhanced their understanding of scientific concepts.

INNOVATION CLUB WORKSHOP AT DPSG INTERNATIONAL The school has initiated an Innovation Club to challenge the young minds to think not just laterally but also out of the box. During their session the students got a chance to interact with Mr. Kailash Chandra, Sr Education Officer, National Science Centre Delhi. The resource person sparked the flame of innovation in the minds of students through a brainstorming session as well as some very innovative hands on activities like designing a roller coaster, a tesla coil and a speaker. The students also got a chance to learn concepts like parallax and magnetic levitation by doing simple activities with stationary items. The most interesting, creative and fun filled activity was brainstorming to create a twenty-first century creature. The challenge was to think of a super-human who will be able to sustain the challenges of global warming and climatic changes. They had to equip their creation with devices and modifications of their choice for him to be able to sustain the conditions. The activity helped the students to not only be imaginative and creative but also sensitized them towards the environmental challenges that the future generations may have to face due to the negligence of the current generations.
