So, the summer vacation is, in another way , an opportunity to horn certain life skills while having fun. Delhi Public School, Sangrur has come up with ingredients to help children gain dif- ferent skills. A summer camp for classes Nursery to Prep-II was organized from july2’19 to July9’10. Dancing, singing, art and craft and water splashing were the activities which kindergarten stars were supposed to grasp during the sum- mer camp. This has definitely enhanced their productivity.

SUMMER CAMP
Summer Camp is the time for children to take off from the regular chore of go-

ADVENTURE CAMP
ADVENTURE CAMP brings the fun, thrill excitement and simple pleasurable experiences. Adventure
camp offers a welcoming, lively, safe, positive and diverse environment where children gain confi-
dence and build self esteem.
A fun-filled Adventure camp was organized by Delhi Public School, Sangrur from June 1’19 to June
5’19 for classes 6th to 12th at Shimla (Solan). The camp exposed campers to a variety of challenging
and exciting activities. This was 5 days and 4 nights camp . Everyday children played outdoor games
mainly volleyball and football. Zip line, trekking, hiking, rope climbing, valley crossing and Zumba
were the activities which children enjoyed at the camp. These activities helped to strengthen team-
work and personal accomplishment. They also visited a farm house and learnt about variety of flow-
ers. A visit to a local government school and meeting with Principal and students is also a memorable
moment for our kids. Every day was ended up with bonfire. Finally, the camp was indeed well com-
pleted and campers added memories to cherish for throughout their life.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
The Scholastic Book Fair is held every year at Delhi Public School Sangrur. These are busy and fun days, where we set up a “Book store “for our school. This event gets the students ex-cited about reading. This year the Book Fair was organised from May 30, 2019 to June 1, 2019. In a fast paced technology enhanced world, It was so wonderful to see students get excited about books and reading. The students, parents and grandparents had a blast and book sales were through the roof.
INTER DPS SINGING COMPETITION
Music binds our soul, hearts and emotions. Music is the best method of relaxation. It cheers the spirit and lightens the heart. Through singing children learn to express their feelings and ideas. To bring out the singing talent of the children, the Inter DPS singing competition was organ-ised at DPS Amritsar on July 27, 2019. Students of 18 schools including DPS Sangrur partici-pated in the competition. The theme of the competition was folk songs. The students sang the songs with lot of passion and confidence. Each team tried to show the mastery over voice modulation, pitch, rhythm and tone. Everyone present there enjoyed the mellifluous songs.

TEACHERS’ WORKSHOP
‘A workshop is a great way to learn about a particular subject, learn new projects and meth-
ods in order to better someone.’
Workshops are extremely important in a school environment to promote better teaching and
understand the level of student. It helps the teachers to think beyond the textbooks and
makes them familiar with new methods . To believe on this DPS Sangrur conducts various
workshops for better teaching learning process. These workshops build teachers’ confidence
and make their teaching smooth.
- A two days workshop was conducted on July 11, 2019 and July 12, 2019 in school prem-
ises on ‘ Classroom Management’ and the resource person was Dr. Anupama. She is a
Clinical Psychologist and Counseling Therapist. She is a great personality who gave different
ways to make a disciplined class. She told about DOPE personality of people that would
really help the teachers to understand students having different personalities. She told about
many mind games to increase concentration level of students.
- Our teacher Ms. Manisha (PGT Physics) attended a workshop at HRD Centre DPS New
Delhi. It was three days’ workshop from July 24, 2019- July27, 2019 , on ‘The Wonders World
of Physics’. The event was managed by Mr. Harish Sachdeva and resource persons were Mr.
Anupam Jagga, Dr. Gagan Gupta, Mr. Subodh Kumar, Mr. R.P. Sharma and Dr. B.P Tyagi.
They discussed difficult numerical problems and interesting ways to solve these for students.
Many difficult problems of circuits, current and Electromagnetism were solved with easiest
ways. They also showed simple projects that can be helpful for the students for easy learn-
ing .They gave plenty of tips to make the subject interesting and easy for students.
