You'll be guided
in a time travel through the analysis of the authors' works, leading to the discovery of Maurits Cornelis Escher's, Franco Grignani's and Felipe Pantone's universes.
Time barriers will be broken in order to show the 'fil rouge' that links these three graphic designers and evaluate the common subjects in terms of space, time and perception. Enjoy your trip.

Escher was a Dutch engraver and graphic designer. Escher's name is inextricably linked to his woodcuts, lithographs and halftones that show impossible constructions, explorations of infinity, tilings of the plane and space and interconnected motifs that gradually transform into shapes.
Escher's works have a strong mathematical component, and many of the worlds which he drew are built around impossible objects such as the Penrose triangle or to optical illusions such as the Necker's cube. In "Gravity", instead, multicolored reptiles protrude their heads through a possible dodecahedrical star.
In all of his works not only the cold logic of the exact sciences is shown, but natural worlds with panoramas, views, plants and real or imaginary animals happen to enrich its work with a view extraordinarily comprehensive.

This xilograph is the first of a series that mainly concerns relativity. It shows the inner side of a cube, with arched windows that show three different landscapes . From the upper two you can see, as from the top of a bell tower, the world below; The central windows are at eye level and show the horizon ; the lower two look at the stars .
It may seem absurd that nadir, horizon and the zenith are combined into a single building, but all these elements form a logical set. Any function you want to ascribe to the different floors of this building is relative .
The background in the middle of the printed work, for example, has three meanings: it can be a wall relatively to the horizon behond itself; it can be a floor under the upper perspective; it can be a ceiling for the starry sky .

Felipe Pantone is an Argentinian graffiti artist and graphic designer, now based in Valencia. His graffiti, signed Pant and Pant1, is the first medium he can express itself with, and through which he developed his own style, named Ultradinamismo . His works include paintings, mixed media , installations and graffiti .
The features of his works are the alternation of vivid color and black/white, the extremely dynamic compositions, the use of computers as the main medium .
The message we want to send through his works concerns the approval of global communication, and the severance of artistic languages , physical and electronic through hybridization. He is inspired by Op Art and formalism.

come spazio espositivo e divulgativo.
una partecipazione attiva all’opera.

The analyzed authors express in their works the dynamics of space and its various forms. The different techniques engaged lead to the same goal: the representation of the two-dimensional plane of perceptual ambiguity tridimensional projections, which are paradoxical due to the context in which they develop in two dimensions.
