Well, another year is upon us. As the

new DAR President for 2014 I want to

welcome you to “The President’s Corner”,

that’s what I am going to call this page.

Delta Currents offers a platform on which

to raise questions, resolve issues and

discuss topics of concern to our business

and East Contra Costa County. Please

join me throughout

the year as we explore

what matters most, our

political and economic

well being. If our East

County neighborhoods

and towns thrive then we,

as Realtors, serving our

communities, will thrive

also.

First business at hand

is to thank many people

who have given of their

time and talent to DAR

and the community in 2013; to name a

few:

Scott McIntyre, 2013 DAR President,

who did an outstanding job with many

issues, changes at EBRD, By-Laws

revisions, and more.

James Britto, 2015 President Elect,

and 2013 Chairman of the Budget and

Finance Committee.

The entire 2013 Board of Directors;

Mary Jane Dukellis, Cathie Marples,

Jodi Marfia, Errol Mooney, Lori

Ogorchock, Rena Provencio, Ramesh

Suman, and Lynn Valintis.

Of course, we owe a big thank you to

John Bedford and our staff of The Delta

Association of Realtors; Tonia Nielson,

Jean Ruelas, Ron Greenslade, and

Barbara Baham.

Looking ahead to 2014:

Well, of course there is the Installation on

Thursday January 9 at 11:30. Being installed

are yours truly as the 2014 president, and

the 2014 Board of Directors. The installation

will be at Club Los Meganos at Trilogy in

The Vineyards. Kevin Brown, 2014 President,

California Association of Realtors will swear

us in to our offices and

responsibilities. We’ll be looking

for you to join us.

Wednesday, January 22 will kick

off the C.A.R. Winter Meetings

in San Diego. The meetings

will go through Saturday the

25th. You will find a report

in The President’s Corner

in a following issue of Delta

Currents.

February 1st the now famous

Delta Realtors Crab Feed

to be held at Shadow Lakes Clubhouse in

Brentwood. Get your tickets from any Director

or at the DAR office, $50 each.

April 30 through May 3, will see us at the C.A.R.

meetings in Sacramento. Of particular interest

will be Legislative Day on Wednesday, April 30.

This is an excellent opportunity to experience

our state government in action. (No, that is not

intended to be an oxymoron.) All Realtors are

urged to attend. We will look to provide bus

transportation to and from Sacramento on the

30th. Look for more details to come on this

event.

And finally, let me make a pitch for your

participation in DAR. Whether you want to

run for office or serve on a committee or

two, please step forward. Delta Association

has a lot of new members with great ideas

and enthusiasm. Your ideas and enthusiasm

feed our future, and that of our East County

communities.
