CMS = Content Management System
Features enabled by CMI:
Ability to link a document in Costpoint with a document in CMS
E.g. link a scanned image of a receipt to a voucher
Ability to pre-populate Costpoint documents based on scanned
documents in CMS
E.g. a new voucher can be pre-populated based on a scanned and OCR-ed
voucher
Ability to view linked CMS documents from within Costpoint

Features enabled by CMI (continued):
Linked CMS documents will stay attached with Costpoint document as
it is being processed through various applications
E.g. link for attached invoice will not be lost after posting an invoice and will
be available in Voucher History application
Ability to use CMS as a replacement for shared network folders:
Ability to “print” from Costpoint directly into CMS
Ability to point Costpoint pre-processors/interfaces directly to documents in
CMS

Sharepoint is supported through native interface
Content Management Interoperability Standard (CMIS) is used as the key integration technology. Any CMS supporting CMIS can be integrated with Costpoint

CMI – Configuration Applications
After registering your SharePoint instance in Costpoint Configuration Console you
can proceed with enabling/configuring CMI integration in Costpoint applications
First you need to create a content type

CMI – Configuration Applications

CMS Content Type = a file with a collection of properties
E.g. a scanned invoice PDF file with properties “Invoice Date”, “Number”,
“Vendor”
A content type may be associated with documents which are being linked
with Costpoint entities OR
A content type can be a folder used as a source/destination for printing
applications and/or pre-processors
You can control if a given file in CMS is allowed to be linked with more than
one entity in Costpoint
For different user groups you can define different locations within CMS to
store documents of a given type
E.g. AP clerk in business unit A will see different AP vouchers in CMS than AP
clerk in business unit B based on each user associated with different location
in CMS
CMI – Configuration Applications
You need to link Costpoint content type with applications where it will be used

You can control :
If a user can create/update/delete links to a content type in a given
application
if more than one attachment is allowed for documents in a given
application
if CMS document properties have to match corresponding properties in
Costpoint document
You can define what properties should be used as a logical
key for each Content Type (business document)
