Payroll Specific Features –Negative Gross Pay

Page 21: Deltek Insight 2012: New People Features in Costpoint 7

PurposeTo add user-specified handling of negative gross pay

Examples of negative gross pay situations:

1. Adjustment of hours worked for a terminated employee. The negative labor has to be posted so that the government is billed correctly. That negative timesheet then creates negative gross pay.

2. An employee could take paid leave instead of leave without pay (LWOP) and not have enough leave accrued to cover the time off. If this was discovered after the paycheck had been cut, it would be corrected the following pay period by reversing the time, which in turn could cause negative gross pay.

2. Create Negative Record A payroll edit record will be created where all tax calculations and deductions

are based on the negative amount The employee will be included in the Compute Payroll Warnings Report to alert

the user of the negative pay situation A paycheck date and number must be manually assigned to the payroll edit

user of the negative pay situation A paycheck date and number must be manually assigned to the payroll edit record
