We interacted with the authorities to get a

Future Demand
Demand for expensive products is not high and isnot likely to increase much in the future in a citylike Patiala.
Customers are looking for a cheap place with
high quality and that is the biggest plus point forplaces like Gopals and Sahnis. Now, good hotels are opening up in Patiala
which offer good quality rooms and a newdemand is being created. (Something Patiala
lacked a few years ago) With the increase in the student class in the
city, new fast food chains are opening up in thecity.

What did we learn?
The law of diminishing demand due toincrease in prices does not hold entirely true
in hospitality business within a particularsegment.
Restaurants targeting higher class do notbelieve in advertisements.
It takes a hotel anything between 5 to 8 yearsto achieve break-even point.

Conclusion
Maintenance of quality is the biggest factorto attract new customers and sustain existing
customers. Small increases in price do not have a huge
impact on sales
Hospitality sector has just started heating upin Patiala.
A big opportunity to start something new andmake big profits.
