    A big pump has a big water hammer

    effect; this is a factor of the pumpsinertia. Smaller pumps reduce the risk ofwater hammer. The purchase price and

    operating costs are also lower.

    Sudden momentum changes thatcause water hammer can be avoidedby a gradual ramp-up, likewise withramping down. This is a standard

    pre-programmed function in theGrundfos Control MPC.

    Proportional pressure controlautomatically regulates the set-point to minimise water loss andenergy consumption. This is uniqueto Grundfos Control MPC.
