Safety WarningThis Set Top Box has been manufactured to comply with international safety standards.Please read the following safety precautions carefully.

Safety Instructions and Precautions

1. MAIN SUPPLY 5V DC, 1A This Set Top Box should only be operated using the type of

power supply indicated on the marking label. If you are unsure of the type of power supplied to your

home, consult your local power company. Before starting any maintenance or installation procedures,

disconnect the Set Top Box from the mains.

2. OVERLOADING Be careful not to overload wall outlets, extension cords or

adapters as this may result in �re or electric shock.

3. LIQUID Protect the Set Top Box against humidity, drips and

splashing. In addition, objects �lled with liquids should never be placed on top of the Set Top Box.

4. CLEANING Before cleaning, disconnect the Set Top Box from the wall

outlet. Use a light damp cloth (no solvent) to clean the Set Top Box

exterior.

5. VENTILATION The ventilation slots on top of the Set Top Box must be left

uncovered to ensure that free air�ow is maintained around the unit.

Do not stand the Set Top Box on soft furnishings or carpets. Do not stack any electronic equipment on top of the Set

Top Box.

6. ATTACHMENTS Do not use any attachments that are not recommended by

the manufacturer as these may be hazardous or cause damage to the Set Top Box.

7. CONNECTION TO THE TV Before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the TV,

disconnect the Set Top Box from the mains. Failure to do so may damage the TV.

8. DURING LIGHTENING, STORM OR WHEN NOT USED FOR EXTENDED PERIOD

During thunderstorms or when left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug the Set Top Box from the wall outlet and disconnect the cable. This will prevent damage to the unit due to lightening or power surges.

9. EXTRANEOUS OBJECTS Do not insert anything into the openings in the unit, where

they can touch dangerous voltage points or damage parts.

10. LOCATION Install the Set Top Box indoors to avoid exposing it to

lightning, rain or sun. No naked �ame sources, such as lighted candles, should be

placed on the apparatus. Do not place it near radiators or heat registers. Maintain a clearance of at least 10 cm from any appliance

susceptible to electromagnetic in�uences, such as a TV/DVD/VCR/Computer.

Do not close o� the cooling slots on the Set Top Box with any object, and do not place Set Top Box on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface.

If you place the Set Top Box on a rack or bookcase, ensure that there is adequate ventilation and that you have followed the manufacturer’s instructions regarding mounting.

Do not place the Set Top Box on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table from which it may fall.

A falling Set Top Box can cause serious injury to a child or adult and seriously damage the appliance.

The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

11. REPLACEMENT OF PARTS If parts need to be replaced, be sure that a quali�ed service

technician uses replacement parts speci�ed by the manufacturer or those that have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in additional damage to the unit.

1 . 2 Front Panel

1. Signal Receiver Window Receives the remote control's infrared signals.

2. Message Indicator Turns yellow when the STB receives a message.

3. Signal Indicator Blinks when the STB receives the remote control's infrared signals.

4. Standby Indicator Turns red when the STB is in standby mode.

5. Standby Turns the power ON or place the Set Top Box on standby mode.

6. Menu Displays the setup menu.

7. VOL -/+ Increases or decreases the volume.

8. OK Selects a program, a highlighted line or parameter value.

9. CH -/+ ( Program -/+ ) Changes the channel up or down.

1. SMART CARD SLOT Slot for the Smart Card.

2. RF IN Connects the incoming coaxial cable of your cable system.

3. RF OUT Connects the Set Top Box RF output using a coaxial patch cord to the TV.

4. CVBS Connects to a TV and outputs Video signals.

5. AUDIO R/L Connects to a TV or music system and outputs audio signals.

1 . 4 Inserting a Smart card

The Set Top Box with a Smart Card which entitles you to view / listen to all the channels you choose to subscribe to. To ensure that your Set Top Box functions properly, please leave the Smart Card inserted in it at all times. The Smard Card slot on the digital Set Top Box can be used for given Smart card only.

1. Power o� the STB.2. Insert the smart card. Insert the smart card with the metal chip facing downwards into the smart card slot of the STB.

To prevent damage to the STB or the smart card:1. Do not insert or remove the smart card when STB is powered on.2. Do not frequently insert or remove the smart card.

1. POWER To switch the Set Top Box on or place it on stand by. 2. MUTE To turn the audio on or o�.

3. NUMERIC KEYS To select the channel or enter the PIN code.

4. TV To view TV.

5. MENU To display the main menu on the screen or return to the previous menu.

6. BACK To return or exit from the current menu and move to the previous screen.

7. OK To con�rm your choice.

8. NAVIGATION KEYS To move the cursor for selecting options on the menu.

9. VOL+/VOL- To increase or decrease the volume in the viewing mode.

10. COLORED KEYS To function as the corresponding color option shown on screen.

11. MUSIC To display the music menu.

12. GAMES To display the games menu.

13. MESSAGES To display the message sent to your Set Top Box.

14. LANGUAGE To set the audio language options.

15. HELP To display the screen help information.

16. FAVOURITES To select and view the list of the favourite channel.

17. GUIDE To display the programme schedule.

18. INFO To display the programme banner.

19. CH+/CH- To change the channel in the viewing mode.

20. EXCITE To display the interactive menu.

21. CINETIME To display the cinetime menu.

2. Setting up the Digital Set Top Box

2.1 Connecting the Set Top Box with Cable system/TV

2.1.1 Using the RF Cable

2.1.2 Using the RCA Cable

Connect the coaxial cable from cable system to the RF IN jack on the Set Top Box.

Connect the RCA cable from AUDIO IN L/R jacks on the TV to the AUDIO L/R jack on the Set Top Box.

This chapter describes how to set up your Set Top Box. Select the most appropriate procedure depending on your requirements. Before connecting the Set Top Box to any other equipment, it is necessary to disconnect all equipment from their sources.

1. Before connecting or disconnecting a cable, power o� the Set Top Box, TV, and all the devices connected to them.2. Do not plug or unplug a cable when a device is powered on.

2.2 Powering On

This Set Top Box should only be operated using the type of power supply indicated on the marking lable.If you are unsure of the type of power supplied to your home,consult your local power company.

2. You can select programmes as per genres & upon selecting <OK> keyprogramming guide is displayed.

3. Pressing <FAVOURITES> key will tune tothe first favourite channel. Using FAV keywill tune to next favourite channels availableif any.

1. Press <MENU> key to display the menu options.2. You can select the sub menu using < / > key and the selected sub menu options become highlighted. You can navigate through these, by using < / > keys.3. To select an option in the submenu, highlight the option & press <OK> key.4. Pressing <BACK> key returns to the previous menu.5. Pressing <MENU> key again returns to the channel being watched earlier.

You can also view day wise listings for aparticular channel by selecting green key.

5.6.3 Manage Favourites

Now Den Network presents a new feature Multiple Favourite wherein you can set your favourite channels for 4 users. From this service each of you in a family can be sure of keeping a record of your favourite channels and have a whale of a time watching TV.

To avail of this service select Favourites from the Main Menu then select Manage Favourites.[Menu] > [Favourite] > [Manage Favourite]

Now choose the Manage Favourites option and then select the User Key and press OK.

You will now be guided to a page of alphabets. Just press the alphabets and feed your name. Press OK to save it.
