Walking into waiting Room & Check-in Area
When arriving to our office you will be greeted by Erin, Becky and Angie. You will be asked to fill out patient paperwork. Your child is welcome to read a book and play with the games while waiting to be called back.
Toothbrush station
Let’s pick a toothbrush!
Toothbrushes come in different shapes, sizes and colors.
We will be sure to help you pick the right size for your child’s mouth and dental appointment.
Entering Dental Room
Your child will either go into our open bay, movie room or mommy & me room depending on age and comfort level
Asking Questions About Oral Hygiene & Eating Habits
When arriving into the dental room the assistant will ask a series of questions regarding how many times your child brushes & flosses and what snacks they eat throughout the day.
Brushing & Flossing Teeth
After questions are answered, the dental assistant will start brushing your teeth with their spinning toothbrush. You will be able to choose from bubble gum, berry or mint for your toothpaste. You will also get to use our silly straw “Mr. Thirsty” and our “water squirter” to help get out all the toothpaste.
Checking with mirror and tooth counter
After brushing the assistant &
doctor will count and
examine your teeth with their
mirror and tooth counter.
Taking dental x-rays if needed
Sometimes the doctor will need x-rays of your teeth to make sure they are healthy and strong. We like to refer to these x-rays as tooth pictures!
Dentist arrives to count teeth
The dentist likes to make sure your teeth are nice and clean after brushing. She will also count and see how many teeth you have.
• Once all of your baby teeth have come in you will have a total of 20 baby teeth.
• By the time you are 18 years old, you will have 32 adult teeth.
• Eventually, you will lose your baby teeth. They will be replaced by your adult teeth.
• Your adult teeth will be permanent. You will not get another set. So, you must take very good care of your teeth!
Dentist applies fluoride treatment
Dr. Hardin and Dr. Katie recommend painting on a fluoride treatment every 6 months. We call this our tooth vitamins. They help keep your teeth nice and strong. We offer four yummy flavors to choose from: Bubble Gum, Orange Cream, Caramel or Mint.
Walking up to hang name on tree and pick out prize
Lastly, at the end of your appointment if you don’t have a cavity you get to hang your name up on our no cavity tree and pick out a prize!
