You will also be able to contrast the views that early sociologists such as Comte, Spencer, Marx, Durkheim, and Weber held regarding society and the role of the sociologists.

You are expected to demonstrate deep knowledge of the meaning and concepts of culture. This task is designed for you to define the key components of culture, such as knowledge, language, and communication, customs, values, norms and physical objects. This task is also designed to identify the factors that promote cultural diversity. Furthermore, you are also expected to summarize the ways in which culture affects human interaction and the ways humans change culture.

You are expected to demonstrate deep knowledge in socialization and personality development. This task is designed for you to identify and analyze the different theories on the social self, such as theories of Cooley, Mead, Durkheim and Piaget. You will also be able to describe how individuals are affected by different social groups to which they belong and how collective behavior can influence and change society. Furthermore, you are also expected to discuss the concept of deviance and social stratification. This also includes basic social institutions and how they contribute to the transition of society’s values.

Thisassessment task is designed for you to demonstrate deep knowledge on current social problems, population education and family planning. This includes issues on poverty, drug addiction, prostitution, gender sensitivity, environment, peace education and roots of ethnic conflicts. You are also expected to discuss the definition of population and the basic demographic variables. Furthermore, you will be able to identify the different methods of family planning.

In this task, you are required to watch the documentary film entitled “Hinabing Panaginip” and “Ifugao Rice Terraces” and write a reflection paper.

You are expected to integrate their reflections in the required film in the essay.

The reflection paper will be on-the-spot and should only be written in the last page of the test booklet.

You will be graded according to the following criteria (see attached rubric): 1. Depth of analysis (20 points) 2. Coherence of arguments (10 points) 3. Link to film documentary (15 points) 4. Academic literacy (5 points)

18. POLICIES AND GUIDELINES a. Attendance is counted from the first regular class meeting. b. A validated student identification card must always by worn be all students while attending classes. c. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Any form of dishonesty shall be dealt with accordingly. Honesty is called for at all times. d. Valid examination permits are necessary in taking the examinations as scheduled. e. Base-15 grading policy should be observed. Students who obtained failing scores in major exams are recommended to attend the

tutorial class.
