The lists of approved plants and the text of the certificates are included in the appendices to this trader notice. The establishments have been accredited until 23 August 2015. Role of FBO Any FBO intending to export beef, sheepmeat or pigmeat to The Philippines must draw up an SOP beforehand, to be approved by the responsible Veterinary Inspector of this Department, which demonstrates how they intend to comply with the requirements of the Filipino authorities. The veterinary health certificates will be made available to Veterinary Inspectors at the eligible plants through the usual channels, on request. To: All Food Business Operators

Subject: Agreement with the Republic of the Philippines on meat exports

Introduction This is to inform you that agreement has been reached with the veterinary authorities in the Republic of the Philippines on the accreditation of Irish meat establishments as eligible to handle beef, sheepmeat and pigmeat being exported from Ireland to The Philippines. Agreement has also been reached on the wording of veterinary health certificates to accompany such exports. The lists of approved plants and the text of the certificates are included in the appendices to this trader notice. The establishments have been accredited until 23 August 2015. IV - HEALTH CERTIFICATION I, the undersigned official veterinarian, herby certify that the beef was derived from cattle that:

1. were born and raised in Ireland;

2. were not found to be suspect or confirmed BSE cases, and are not suspect or confirmed progeny or cohorts of BSE cases, as described in the Terrestrial Animal Health Code adopted by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE);

3. were slaughtered in Ireland using methods, which did not include a stunning process with

a device injecting compressed air or gas into the cranial cavity, or a pithing process, and were subject to official ante-mortem and post-mortem inspection;

4. the meat was derived from animals which were slaughtered, processed, packed and

stored under sanitary conditions under official veterinary supervision in the above-mentioned establishment(s) approved for export to the Philippines;

5. specified risk materials (the skull excluding the mandible and including the brain and eyes, and the spinal cord of animals aged over 12 months; the vertebral column excluding the vertebrae of the tail, the spinous and transverse processes of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebrae and the median sacral crest and wings of the sacrum, but including the dorsal root ganglia, of animals aged over 30 months, the tonsils, the intestines from the duodenum to the rectum and the mesentery of animals of all ages) have been systematically removed from products without contamination of the meat.

7. Ireland is free of Foot and Mouth disease and Rinderpest, African Swine Fever, Classical Swine Fever, Swine Vesicular Disease for the last six months immediately prior to the date of slaughter of animals and the date of export of the product to the Philippines;

8. the pigmeat was tested and found negative for Trichinosis;

9. the meat was derived from animals which were slaughtered, processed, packed and stored under sanitary conditions under official veterinary supervision in the above-mentioned establishment(s) approved for export to the Philippines.
