AnthropologyOnce again, the students of the Anthropology Department came out in force to demonstrate the high quality and overall participation in student research. Anthropology presented 24 of the 71 total posters, winning the Research Day Cup in a landslide victory. Kasey Cole, a PhD student working under Dr. Jack Broughton, took first place in the graduate student division. Third place was a tie between Peter Yaworsky, a PhD student working under Dr. Brian Codding, and Jaydee Dolinar, a Master’s student working under Dr. Lisbeth Louderback. Shane Macfarlan,
CSBS Superior Teaching Award
Dr. Macfarlan was nominated for
his excellence as an educator. His
courses are thouroughly enjoyed
by students and often recruit new
majors.
Elizabeth Cashdan,
CSBS Superior Research Award
Dr. Cashdan was nominated for her
work on how evolution has shaped
our thinking and preferences to
solve adaptive problems along with
understanding variation in human
behavior, and the ecological factors
that shape it.
Tyler Faith,
Top Researcher & Grant Recipient
Dr. Faith was recognized as a Top
Researcher at the CSBS Celebrate U
Event. Dr. Faith was also recognized
as the recipient of the NSF CNH
Grant, which is the largest grant in
the College for the current year.
Journey Bly,
Outstanding Researcher
Journey was nominated as
the College of Social and
Behavioral Science’s Outstanding
Udergraduate Researcher for 2019.
Journey has been working in the
Meldrum Molecular Genetics Lab
with Dr. Leslie Knapp
