Purpose
This event will create a framework to direct DED Community Development resources to support the development of green sustainable communities

Objectives
Define “green” and “sustainable” terms Define and develop a plan to establish a
clearinghouse for sustainable communities
Identify education needs and a strategy to provide education to existing program staff and stakeholders on green concepts
Identify collaborative opportunities among seven DED Community Development teams
Identify collaborative opportunities with local, state and federal entities
Identify Green Cities’ stakeholders
Identify Green Best Practices
Define success by identifying benchmarks, measurables, etc.
Develop criteria for decision making
Develop and prioritize short and long term goals
Define available resources, including technical assistance
