It was truly life changing. So when you are going through something although it may be tough , painful and even frustrating, Recognize and stop yourself from getting struck in ‘pity party’ sulking complaints like this: Why me? I have the worst luck! No one loves me! I can never succeed! CHECK YOURSELF by diving deep into what the message is in the experience and what you can learn from it. No matter how murky the waters may seem. I know when you are knee deep into swamp of your stress and sorrow, the last thing you want to think about is the lesson. But your setback is an opportunity for you to take a different view of what went wrong and your involvement. Your setback can allow you to consciously shift how you react to things, so that you don’t spiral down into depression. Your setback can spark new and innovative solutions to change things for the better! Your setback can remind you about how much love you have in your circle of friends and family who support you. Complaining doesn’t create change, it only prolongs the problem! So when you are going through whatever it is, trust and believe that it won’t last forever. The dust will clear you’ll pick yourself back up. However its up to you to muster up the personal courage and the belief to make a ‘JAW DROPPING’ comeback happen.

Remember “every setback is a set up for a comeback….” After every stormy setback let your light shines brightly

through and creates your own rainbow for others to behold. Step proudly into your greatness and OWN IT!!!! -Aqueelur rahman 7th Sem A ---------------------------------------------------------------------- THE LETTER FROM THE FUTURE Source Wormhole no.5.7B, Quadrant 63, Alpha Proxima, 15/10/2956 Dear Ancestors 2011, I am sending this letter with the use of Inter-Dimensional Co-ordinate Alternator which you may call as Time Machine. I am your son’s daughter’s daughter’s son’s son’s son’s son’s daughter’s daughter’s son.

I just want to make you know that the time in which you are, the generation you have is bestowed with the precious gift of Nature, the environment, trees, animals, insects, biodiversity which you never cared off. And now, in our time the whole biosphere has got unstable due to the mass extinction of more than 80% of species of all ecosystems. We starve for organic food, for watching natural world, to feel the raindrops falling, to smell the scent of wet soil. I can’t express the condition but it doesn’t seem that life ever flourished here as the photos tell that it

was. Yes, we are advanced that we have discovered extraterrestrial life but we are not above nature, we never were!!!

This wouldn’t have been the case, if you have limited your greed of progress at the cost of your own home, the Earth. Nature is a perfect life supporting system that takes millions of years to evolve. And you irresponsibly polluted it in all spheres. For us, the damage is irreparable, but you still have time to correct your mistakes. When a person gets ill, his natural defense system raises the body temperature to kill germs. But in severe cases, a medical treatment becomes necessary. Similarly, nature too could restore its previous state of well being, provided given with ample time and some handful of support. If you even can’t do this to save Earth, then what the use of the technology and Engineering skills you possess. Do you want your future generations to watch Tiger, elephant and other endangered species in museums, to cry for a glass of pure water, to live under the threat of nuclear disaster, to die of breathing polluted air??? DO YOU….? Yours sincerely, Future Nikhil D. Hatwar 7th Sem A

------------------------------------------------------------------------ THE AMERICAN DREAM When people are asked, “How many of you are content and happy with what you have?" the reply of an overwhelming majority of people is “Not me." And when they are asked what do they want most out of life, the typical reply is “I want to be happy." But happiness is a process. In fact, happiness is not even so much a sentiment (contrary to popular culture reinforced by the media) but more of a state of being and an attitude if you will. It comes from feeling connected with everything and everyone. It is the level of our awareness that makes the difference between living “happily" or unhappily. Living in an increasingly artificial world, it’s easy to forget our spiritual roots, and very hard not to live the illusion of life rather than life itself. When we live by the motto: “He with the most toys lives," rather than “He with the most joys lives," we invariably experience artificial joy that prevents us from living fully in the here and now while connecting with real people, real life and having real joy. Perhaps that’s because knowingly or unknowingly, many of us fell victim to the illusion of The American Dream and its promise for sweet success based on a materialistic values system. So before rushing to say: “I want more money," confusing material success with experiencing more love and joy, ask yourself “at what cost? Is the high price tag for achieving success, as narrowly defined by THE AMERICAN DREAM, worth the effort and the great sacrifice? In the pursuit of THE AMERICAN DREAM it’s easy to lose sight of what’s really important and overlook the many trappings of success. You may sacrifice so much just “to get there" only to discover that there is no “there" there. There is more to life than material success and living by the code of external and shallow values that really don’t serve our highest good and purpose. Then you become disillusioned and life easily becomes an empty experience devoid of meaning and real joy or purpose.

This is not to say that you should not strive for excellence or even material success. After all, there is nothing virtuous about being poor. How can you help your fellow human being when you are suffering from lack yourself? It’s unfortunate that money has such a bad reputation (“money is the root of all evil"). In fact it’s the love of money – greed - that drives some to commit crimes that is the root of all evil). When used properly with the element of charity being incorporated, money can be a very useful tool to actually make a difference. It is more spiritual to live well for yourself so that you can give yourself away to benefit others. You are an expression of life itself and that demands your active participation in the process of life through creativity and prosperity. However, it’s essential that you make informed decisions based on the awareness that the promise of THE AMERICAN DREAM which is based on a materialistic and shallow values system (to have it all and enjoy it all and live happily ever after) is just an illusion that may not be in your best interest and can actually cause you more harm than good. Success has its own trappings. It demands a very high price tag that may not be worth it. But if you still insist on knowing whether or not you have reached “Happy Land," in the end you will know it when you live your life consciously. That means you practice the attitude of gratitude for all the blessings in your life (remember it could always be worse). Your joy of life is not dependent on external values such as the accumulation of possessions that produce artificial joy that is as fleeting as it is cruel. You stop defining yourself based on somebody else’s narrow definition of who you are and should be. After all, your true essence, which is constantly changing and expansive, is beyond any man-made definition. Now that’s something to get excited about.

------------------------------------------------------------------------ GOOD NEWS: PETROL-DIESEL PRICE HIKE Even if the whole country is protesting against the fuel price hike, I and some of my friends are glad to hear such news. The fuel price hike severely affects each person using automobiles that runs on oil, and more worse, pollutes air. But it also tends some innovators amongst us to come up with better, cheaper and more importantly cleaner alternatives. I read couple of news articles about some individuals who invented more efficient eco-friendly mopeds and cars. And it is worth, great importance especially for people like me. Actually at larger level it is even bigger good news. Fuel price hike would literally mean decrease in international crude oil resources. According to my chemistry teacher all possible crude oil deposits around the world will be utilized by 2030. Isn’t that good news for all environmentalists? Just think, if there is no petrol-diesel left, there will be no pollution due to transportation. Automobiles contribute a major part to air pollution which is well known to all. There will be a day when all automobile companies will have to shut down or will have to adapt to cleaner technologies, even though they may not be promoting alternative fuel powered vehicles presently. And that’s for sure!!! I agree that it is a mess looking into the future like this, but it will not actually like that if we change our

mind in looking at the present. We won’t face any severe struggle of transition into alternatives if we adapt now for them. Why we are so apathetic to understand such a simple fact..? Albert Gore, former U.S. vice president brilliantly explained this situation in his Oscar winning, (actually eye opening) documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” that if a frog is placed in boiling hot water, then it jumps out of it spontaneously. But if the same frog is placed in normal water, and that container of water is gently heated till it gets as hot as the previous case, the frog won’t jump. It will stay there until, it gets rescued. Similarly, do you want to die of our own hands, since in our case there is no one coming to the rescue? Or do you want to survive against the situation you created by your ability to adapt? The Decision is YOURS…..! Nikhil D. Hatwar 7th Sem A -------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE FOURTH QUADRANT OF LOVE In this world, millions of people around the world are raring to profess their love to one another—most of them without understanding, or knowing, what love really is. Mind you, hormones alone are not responsible for perpetuating the myths associated with love—our literature [ancient and modern] too shares the blame. It has always propagated the idea of a can’t-live- without-you kind of love. So, when we describe romantic love, we usually associate it with feelings such as “she completes me” or “he is my other half”. Somehow, we have been led to believe that we are not complete unless we are united with our counterpart—that someone special who fills the void in our life. The trouble with such notions about love is that they are inherently erroneous—two incomplete people can never complete each other. If you get the feeling of completeness only with another, it is nothing more than an illusion. What love really mean!!!It means the essence, feel ,care for your loved one ,there are widespread arena of love or u can say that it is a sea from where u can take some water ,n it depends on u finally that for what purpose you are going to use this water!!!so for this divine love ,we have to toil hard n try to complete ourselves rather than hurrying for our other half..n after completing just wait and see the magic of the profound n divine love which automatically unite you with your other half .. but now a days this sort of commitment is not going to happen feel like that u are in complete n pure love but by sharing the incompleteness of your other half u realize that such feelings are temporary and therefore bound to cause disappointment, sooner than later. James Redfield touches upon this idea beautifully in his best-selling novel, The Celestine Prophecy. He says that when two incomplete people come together, they feel a false sense of euphoria. This is a classic co-dependent relationship, which has built-in problems that begin to arise immediately. He explains, “The problem with this completed person, this ‘O’, that both people think they have reached, is that it has taken two people to make this one whole person. This one whole person consequently has two heads, or egos. Both people want to run this whole person they have created and so both people want to command the other, as if the other were themselves. This kind of illusion of completeness always breaks down into a power struggle.” Love is not when another completes you but when you are already complete and you share that

completeness with another. When you are complete, you love without expecting anything in return. What would you expect when you don’t need anything? We’re all here to complete our own circles of growth and then share that completeness with others. To become complete, what you need is a fulfilling relationship with yourself. Once you’re complete, you’re so full of love that you simply give it—you’re not really bothered whether the other deserves it or returns the favour,so as my title suggests “the fourth quadrant of love "this is the quadrant, the ultimate saturation point, where efforts end to complete our love, from there ,there is always love in the air ….its the divine n pure “O” which is completed by the two “C”s . the completeness is our fourth quadrant where we have to reach for our magical n stable love ,which is no longer bounded by time n excuses it is endless ……. Now imagine two complete persons coming together to share their completeness with each other. They create magic n stability . And that’s what love is all about: magic………
