• Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering

fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering

problems.

• Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex

engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of

mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

• Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and

design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate

considerations.

Dr. Vidya A BE (CSE), ME (CSE), Ph. D(CSE) MISTE.,FIE

Dr. Vidya A has 18 years of teaching and 6 years of research experience. She received her Ph. D in

Computer Science and Engineering from JNTUH, Hyderabad. M.E in Computer Science and

Engineering from University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore University, B.E in

Computer Science and Engineering from Bangalore University. She has published research papers

in International Conferences and refereed International Journals. She has also received best

presentation award for her research paper.

She is the reviewer for few Journals. Her name is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in Science and

Engineering from 2011 till date. She is the Life Member for ISTE, IAENG and CSI. She is a Fellow

of Institute of Engineers. Her research interest includes Data mining, Bioinformatics, Pattern

Recognition and Image Processing. She is the Member of Board of Examiners for Computer

Science and Engineering (Postgraduate Studies), Bangalore University, Bangalore 2010 to till date.

She is also member of Board of Examiners for Information Science and Engineering, Dr. AIT

(Undergraduate Studies), Autonomous Institution Affiliated to VTU, Bangalore.

Library Scavenger Hunt – Who am I” has been arranged. Book related images will be

which is organized by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Board for IT Education

Standards (BITES), an autonomous agency promoted by Government of Karnataka in

association with IT industries and educational institutions for engineering students in

Karnataka held at SJCE, Mysuru on 08/03/2018.

• An invited talk on “Holistic Technology Development-The Role of Professional Bodies”

was organized on 24th April 2018 & was delivered by Dr. Shantharam Nayak, Prof. Dept. of

ISE, RVCE, Bengaluru.

• An invited talk on “Technology Advancement and Importance of Intellectual Property

Rights” was arranged on 23rd April 2018 & was delivered by Dr. S Rama Murthy, Senior

Advisor ORIGIINIP SOLUTIONS, (Former Professor-Jain University).

• A pre-placement talk has been delivered for BE final year students, regarding preparation

for test and interviews by Dr. M S Bhagyashekar, Principal, VKIT on 12th March 2018.

• Dr. Vidya A, Prof. and Head, arranged Yuva Yuga – to encourage and promote skill

development of the youth of Karnataka through various schemes of GoI/GoK and ICT

Initiative for industry aligned courses to develop Industry ready skilled work force in

IT/ITES, Electronics, Life Science, Banking and Financial Investments and other such

sectors by T Santosh Kumar, Key Accounts Manager, Trans Neuron Technology for SC/ST

students on 12th March 2018.

• A two-day Hands-on Faculty Development Program on “File Structures” was organized on

15th -16th February 2018. The resource persons were Dr. P. Jayarekha, Associate Professor,

Department ISE, B M S College of Engineering, Bangalore and Dr. Kiran K, Mr. Santosh

Pattar from UVCE, Bangalore

• A two-day Bridge course on “C++” was organized on 17th to 18th 2017. The resource

person was Mr. Ravindranath R C and Asst. Prof, Dept. of ISE, VKIT.

• Students of 4th, 6th and 8th semester have registered for Youth4Work.

• An Industrial Visit has been arranged to ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC), Bengaluru for 4th

• “National Technology Day” was celebrated on 11th May 2018, in remembrance of the

anniversary of Shakti. Shakti is the Pokhran nuclear test which was held on 11th of May,

1998. The day highlights the important role of Science in our daily lives and encourages

students to embrace Science as a career option.

• World Environment Day was celebrated on 5th June 2018 & Dr. Vidya A, has highlighted

the importance of saving our environment and also illustrated with a video clip how plastic

usage is going to affect our lives and marine lives with the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”.

• The department is conducting regular PTM to discuss about academic performance and

overall growth of students with their parents.
