DEPARTMENT OF LIFELONG LEARNING Program Code- LE2A Program Title - Diploma in Interior Designing It contains two semester programs, which focuses on aesthetic, architectural interior designing inside the building like-decoration, arrangement and designing of furniture and etc. This is a full time course. This program consists of theory, lecture, study tours, seminars, workshops and exhibition as essential contents of the curriculum. Objectives – 1. The course content aims at developing sensitivity for every inch of interior space. 2. To Provide knowledge for the constructional aspects of interior designing. 3. To develop skill for the preparation of detail drawings. 4. To acquaint with adequate knowledge of various types of materials, products in market and

their use. 5. To equip the student with sound knowledge design methodology along with computer

proficiency in designing. 6. To help students to be a good professional practitioner by providing them the practical executions know how’s knowledge and market exposes. SALIENT FEATURES:

Syllabuses of various courses are designed by Senior Academicians and related professionals. Classes are held regularly by inviting Senior Academicians and Professionals. Weightage of skill component in each course is100% . Active sites and related Industry visits and expert lectures are regular features in teaching-learning

process. Encouraging students to participate in workshops and value added short term certificate programs.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs): PO1: To produce skilled human resources in respective field by ensuring the attainment of related skills. PO2: To endow with the platforms for employment and efforts for entrepreneurship as well.

This is the most obvious route for most designers. As an interior designer, He/she will be tasked with making the interiors of homes, offices, and other buildings beautiful.

Interior designers have to be creative, understand color theory, and keep abreast with emerging interior design trends.

Furniture design is a more specialized part of interior design. As a furniture designer, your work can be twofold; with the client and with other suppliers.

When working with a client, you may be tasked with arranging furniture at houses, showrooms, offices, and other areas to use space optimally, bring out desired themes and so on.

Exhibition designers provide working layouts and decide the décor to be used in exhibition halls.

Lighting designers ensure adequate lighting for the various projects they are involved in. The designers have to be knowledgeable in basic wiring or work with a qualified electrician

ELIGIBILITY: Minimum (10+2) pass or equivalent in any stream minimum with 50% Marks AGE LIMIT: No age limit for candidates. ADMISSION PROCEDURE: The admissions will be done as per merit in 10+2. Caution money (Refundable) of Rs. 4000/- will be charged additionally in the first semester. Alumni Fee of Rs. 500/- will be charged extra in the first semester. If a student repeats a paper(s) in a semester, an additional fee of Rs.500/- per paper shall be

payable.

will have to pay a refundable deposit of US$ 500 once at the time of admission. Hostel Fee and Central Library Fee will be extra.
