1. Infrastructure
The department of Physiology, Meenakshi Medical College and Research
Institute has an excellent infrastructure and experienced faculties to aid teaching
and research activities. Physiology is taught to wide range of medical, nursing and
paramedical undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The department has well
equipped labs like Haematology, Clinical, Amphibian, Mammalian and Research
labs as per MCI regulations for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. A cardio
respiratory and exercise laboratory, Nerve conduction, EMG, Evoked potential,
EEG, ECG, Polysomnography, HR variability are the main highlights of the
research laboratory. Research facilities are extended to other departments and
expertise offered. Services are provided to the patients attending Meenakshi
Hospital for Pulmonary function and Nerve conduction tests.
Department library is also well furnished with books in various branches of
medicine, Journals related to physiology and e-journals for latest updates.
We also have Museum furnished with portfolio of various scientist who
contributed to physiology, various self explaining models of human physiology
and also specimens of rare cases.
