MSc in Health Policy, Planning and Financing

Specialization in Health EconomicsFinancing and improving the quality, safety, accessibility and productivity of healthcare systems is a global

challenge today. Populations are ageing, we all wish to live long and maintain a good quality of life. But what is

the value in health, and how to measure quality of life? Citizens’ expectations and demand for health services are

ever increasing, while healthcare costs are rocketing. The pharmaceutical sector, biotechnology, medical device

and digital health industries are booming; the innovation in the health and beauty industry is dynamically

changing putting a large pressure on our healthcare systems. Parallel to this, healthcare funding bodies and

insurers demand more and more well-trained professionals to work at various levels of the decision preparation

and -making processes. Competencies and requirements for young professionals are also changing; improving

the awareness and application of the cutting-edge methodologies, outcome measures and forms of data

collection is essential. On the other side of the health industry, in the field of biotechnology, intelligent medical

devices, big data and artificial intelligence have become highly profitable industries worldwide. The two sectors

share a common need for young professionals with specific knowledge and expertise in health economics and

policy.
