System Requirements WebScan Overview WebScan is an application used by web clients to interface with USB based scanners, without the use of ActiveX or Java. The purpose of this document is to cover the installation, configuration and usage of WebScan for your Deposit Wizard scanner.

Hardware Requirements • USB 3.0/2.0 • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 or newer • Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) – 12.30501

Supported Browsers • Google ChromeTM • Microsoft Internet Explorer® 11 • Mozilla Firefox

Driver Installation If the scanner drivers for your scanner are installed, skip driver installation and move to Step 3.

If there are not any scanner drivers for your scanner installed on the workstation, please use the directions found in Step 2.

NOTE: The WebScan application can only have one active instance running at a time as it is run as a user based interface. When multiple users log on to the same workstation without logging off the previous users, WebScan will display an WebScan Load Exception error.

**To continue, you must have the necessary Windows privileges to install an application. Therefore, you may need assistance from your Systems Administrator. You will also be required to reboot your computer. Please save and close any documents you have open. **

Step 1 - Determining Windows Edition & Bit Count Drivers can only be installed on Windows 7, 8, or 10. Before installing drivers, ensure that no other drivers are installed on your computer. Instructions to uninstall existing drivers are located in the Resource section of this

document.

1.1 For Windows 7 & 8 1.1.1 Select the START MENU icon in the lower left hand corner of your screen. 1.1.2 Select COMPUTER 1.1.3 Right click on any white space. From the menu, select PROPERTIES

3.4 The WINDOWS EDITION and SYSTEM TYPE will display.

1.2 For Windows 10

1.2.1 Type COMPUTER > THIS PC in the ASK ME ANYTHING box in the bottom left hand corner 1.2.2 Right click on any white space. 1.2.3 From the menu, select PROPERTIES 1.2.4 The WINDOWS EDITION and SYSTEM TYPE will display.

Step 2 – Installing NEW Drivers Before installing drivers, ensure that no other drivers are installed on your computer.

Steps to uninstall existing drivers are located in the Uninstall Scanner Driver Section of this document.

2.1 First, unplug the USB cord from the back of the scanner. 2.2 Then, navigate to the DEPOSIT WIZARD DEPLOYMENT PAGE located here:

https://depositwizard.townebank.com/deployment/Merchantdrivers.htm 2.3 Choose either 32-BIT SCANNER OR 64-BIT SCANNER DRIVER INSTALLATION, depending on the computer’s system type

discovered in the previous step.

2.4 Select your scanner type based on the bit count of your operating system: 2.4.1 Right click VisionX for 32 bit operating system (not featured) 2.4.2 Right Click Vision – 64bit for 64 bit operating system (64-bit options featured below)

2.5 Select SAVE TARGET AS

2.6 It is recommended that you save the folder to your DESKTOP 2.7 Once download is complete, right click on the SCANNERDRIVER_DIGITALCHECK_PVISIONX.ZIP file or

SCANNERDRIVER_PVISIONX-64.ZIP file that should now be located on your DESKTOP.

2.8 From the menu, select EXTRACT ALL

2.9 The SELECT A DESTINATION window will appear, verify it will extract to your desktop and select EXTRACT

2.10 Once the files are extracted, locate the SCANNERDRIVER folder that should be located on your Desktop. Double

click it to open it.

2.11 Within the folder, right click the SETUP.EXE file and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR from the menu.

2.12 The driver installation dialog box will open. Select NEXT to begin the installation.

2.13 To continue, select INSTALL

2.14 The Panini logo will appear on your screen to indicate the installation process has begun.

2.15 The logo will disappear and be replaced with the ‘Preparing Setup’ dialog box. Then, a small blue and white icon

will appear on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. This icon will remain on the task bar to indicate the installation is still running. Note: This installation may take between 5-20 minutes.

2.16 Select FINISH

2.17 Plug the USB cord into the back of the scanner, the VisionX without Firmware should show in the bottom right

hand toolbar. NOTE: If installing on Windows 10, this box will not appear.

2.18 Continue to Step 3 - .NET Framework Installation

Step 3 - .Net Framework Installation 3.1 Navigate to the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 (Web Installer) page.

3.2 Select the DOWNLOAD button located near the middle of the page.

3.3 Select RUN

3.4 The .Net framework on the computer may already be up to date. If so, a message stating ‘Your installation will not occur.’ will appear to indicate your computer is up to date. If you receive this message, Skip to Step 4 – WebScan Installation. If you do not receive this message, continue to step 3.5 to complete the .NET framework update.

3.5 Check the box next to I HAVE READ AND ACCEPT THE LICENSE TERMS then select INSTALL.

3.6 The dialog window will change to indicate the installation is occurring.

3.7 Once the installation is complete, select Finish. 3.8 Continue to Step 4 – WebScan Installation

Step 4 - WebScan Installation 4.1 Open WebScan Folder

4.2 Hit ENTER on your keyboard

4.3 Upon opening the Webscan folder, a dialog box will appear. Select RUN to begin downloading WebScan.

NOTE: Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) may need to be installed before installation of Webscan can be completed. If prompted to install, complete Steps i-v. If not prompted, go to Step 4.3 for WebScan installation. 4.3.1 Select YES

4.3.2 When prompted to download vcredist_x86.exe, select RUN

4.4 Check the box to agree to the license terms and conditions. Once you’ve agreed to the terms and conditions, the

INSTALL option will activate, select it to begin the installation.

4.5 Once the installation is complete, select Close on the final screen. 4.6 Then, select this link to access the WebScan Installation Folder

4.7 Once you have C++ installed. Select the Webscan folder again and a dialog box will open. Select RUN.

4.8 Select NEXT

4.9 Update the installation folder with the desired location of the program file, or use the default path. Then, select

NEXT.

4.10 Next, you will be prompted to configure how Webscan will update. It is

recommended that you allow Webscan to automatically check for and install updates. 4.10.1 In the next dialog box, check the box next to CHECK FOR UPDATES? to

allow the software to automatically check and install updates. 4.10.2 In the UPDATE URL field, type the URL

https://depositwizard.townebank.com/deployment/webscan 4.10.3 In the REMOTE DOMAIN URL: field, enter the URL

https://depositwizard.townebank.com 4.10.4 Select ADD DOMAIN 4.10.5 The domain will move to the box below 4.10.6 Select NEXT

4.11 The WebScan Pos Install Config will display and show successful on each

section. Select OK

4.12 The Installation Complete dialog will appear when installation is successful. Select CLOSE.

4.13 The WebScan icon may appear on the bottom taskbar, desktop and/or in the alerts and notifications section of the task bar.

Step 5 - Update Browser Settings To avoid errors when scanning checks, you will need to update your browser to reflect the following:

• Internet Explorer – add depositwizard.townebank.com as a trusted site. • Google Chrome – add depositwizard.townebank.com as a trusted site. Then, set up a security exception to allow

for real time communication between the WebScan software and your scanner driver without the use of Javascript.

• Firefox – add depositwizard.townebank.com as an add an exception. Then, set up a security exception to allow for real time communication between the WebScan software and your scanner driver without the use of Javascript.

5.1 Internet Explorer

5.1.1 Open Internet Explorer. 5.1.2 Navigate to TOOLS. 5.1.3 Select INTERNET OPTIONS. 5.1.4 Select the SECURITY tab. 5.1.5 Select the green check mark for TRUSTED SITES under the

SELECT A ZONE TO VIEW OR CHANGE SECURITY SETTINGS SECTION of the dialog box.

5.1.6 The TRUSTED SITES dialog box will open, select the SITES button 5.1.7 In the ADD THIS WEBSITE TO THE ZONE field, type the URL

https://depositwizard.townebank.com and select ADD and then CLOSE.

5.1.8 Select OK on the Internet Options Dialog box to finish.

5.2 Google Chrome

5.2.1 Open Chrome 5.2.2 Select the MENU icon on the far right of the address bar.

5.2.3 Select SETTINGS from the drop down menu. 5.2.4 Scroll to the bottom of the page and select ADVANCED

5.2.5 Under SYSTEM, select OPEN PROXY SETTINGS.

5.2.6 Select the SECURITY tab. 5.2.7 Then select TRUSTED SITES from the SELECT A ZONE TO VIEW OR

CHANGE SECURITY SETTINGS options. 5.2.8 Select the SITES button. 5.2.9 A dialog box will appear, in the ADD THIS WEBSITE TO THE ZONE

FIELD, type the URL https://depositwizard.townebank.com

5.2.10 Select ADD. 5.2.11 Then select CLOSE and then OK

Note: If your settings already include depositwizard.townebank.com as a trusted site, you do not need to remove it and add it again.

Step 5.2.9: Type https:depositwizard.townebank.com in the Add This Website to the Zone field.

Next, you will need to create a security exception on your local machine.

5.2.12 In Chrome, navigate to https://localhost:58080/signalr/hubs. 5.2.13 A window will appear with the notification “your connection is not private.” Note: If a Java script like the one below appears, this means the exception is already in place and you may proceed to STEP 6 - SCANNER REGISTRATION section.

5.2.14 Select ADVANCED 5.2.15 Select PROCEED TO LOCALHOST (UNSAFE) 5.2.16 Verify that the exception has taken place by looking at the URL in the browser’s address bar. A note

saying “Not secure” should appear, along with a strike-through over the original https.

5.3 FireFox 5.3.1 Open Firefox, select the Menu icon on the far right of the Address bar.

5.3.2 From the menu on the left hand side of the screen, select SECURITY. Then select the first EXCEPTIONS button

on the right side of the window.

5.3.3 In ADDRESS OF WEBSITE field, type in the URL https://depositwizard.townebank.com. Then select, ALLOW

followed by SAVE CHANGES.

5.3.4 Next, you will need to create a security exception on your local machine. In the address bar of your

browser, type in https://localhost:58080/signalr/hubs.

5.3.5 You will see a window notifying you that your connection is not secure, select ADVANCED. Then select ADD

EXCEPTION.

5.3.6 In the ADD SECURITY EXCEPTION dialog box, select CONFIRM SECURITY EXCEPTION.

5.3.7 The window featured below should appear to indicate the Security Exception has been successfully

executed.

Note: In some cases, the computer’s local security settings may prevent the security exception from being permanently stored. Please work with them member’s Information Technology department to identify possible solutions.

5.3.8 You may close the tab.

5.3.9 In a new tab, navigate to the Deposit Wizard login page to complete Step 6 – Scanner Registration

Step 6 - Scanner Registration 6.1 Log into Deposit Wizard by navigating to https://depositwizard.townebank.com.

Note: If this is the first time you are logging into Deposit Wizard, you will be prompted to complete the Multifactor Authentication setup. Then, once logged in, go to MY PROFILE to change password.

6.2 Once logged in, select REGISTRATION from the main menu

6.3 Using the LOCATIONS: drop down box, select a location. The number of locations will depend on how many scanners

you have. 6.4 Using the SCANNERS: drop down box, select either WEBSCAN VISIONX or WEBSCANN TELLERSCAN. (NOTE: the name of the

scanner will be written on the scanner you use.) Note: If drop down boxes are grayed out, select RE-REGISTER.

6.5 In the SCANNER HOST: field, type the text: localhost

6.6 Select REGISTER 6.7 Then, LOG OUT of Deposit Wizard to reset settings. 6.8 Log back into Deposit Wizard and begin making deposits.

Note: If an error is received when attempting to scan items, go to Step 7 to verify drivers were downloaded correctly.

Step 7 - Using Panini Demo If you attempted to scan deposits after completing Step 6 and received an error message you can download the Panini Demo and initialize a simulated deposit. During simulation, the system will detect if drivers are not installed correctly or if old drivers are still installed on the computer, which are typically the cause for most errors. If you do not wish to attempt this portion of the installation or feel you need additional technical support please contact Treasury Support by phone at 844-638-6724, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 7.1 Locate and click on the PANINI MULTIDEMO (usually on Desktop)

7.2 When the demo opens, select START

7.3 If the drivers are installed correctly, the scanner should initialize and DEVICE CONNECTED – ONLINE should appear.

Select the X in the corner to close the demo. 7.4 If the scanner will not connect, old drivers may be installed on the machine, these drivers will need to be uninstalled.

Find directions to uninstall existing drivers in the Resource section of this document.

Resources 1. Uninstalling Drivers If drivers have been previously installed on the computer, follow these steps to uninstall the previous drivers.

Note: These steps are to remove TellerScan drivers on a computer with Windows 7. 1. Unplug the USB from the scanner. 2. Go to the computer and select the WINDOWS START menu in the lower left corner of the computer. 3. Select CONTROL PANEL 4. Select PROGRAMS AND FEATURES. 5. Locate and right click PANINI UNIVERSAL INSTALLER. Then select UNINSTALL. The program should disappear from the

list of programs.

6. A setup dialog box will appear.

7. Select YES to remove the driver application.

8. The system will begin uninstalling the drivers. Once the uninstall is complete, select FINISH in the UNINSTALL

COMPLETE dialog box.

9. Go back to Programs and Features

10. Locate and right click on PANINI PVISIONX 32 OR 64 BIT SCANNER DRIVER

11. Select YES in the dialog box that appears to confirm the uninstallation of the Panini pVisionX 64-bit scanner

drivers.

12. Install any other scanner drivers on the computer following the same steps above.

13. Once all of the old drivers are uninstalled, go to Step 2 – Installing Drivers to begin installing drivers.
