Derek Warburton
Derek "Fabulous" Warburton lives his life to entertain, educate and make people feel good about
themselves. Having grown up homeless, he always wanted to give back to the women who took care of
him. In the fall of 2009, Derek started the "How to be Derek Fabulous" program at Bottomless Closet
NYC, in which he teaches disadvantaged women how to dress appropriately for work. Going above and
beyond for the clients, Derek works individually with each woman at the seminars to help select garments
and listen to her style and self esteem concerns.
As a fashion editor, correspondent, stylist and motivational speaker, Derek applies his philosophy "Help,
Teach, Inspire, Love and have Fun" to all aspects of his life. His latest and most prevalent
endeavor, www.dereklovesshopping.com has been the sounding board for his message. Help, Teach, Inspire,
Love and have Fun have become slogan to help women feel better about themselves. Derek stays true to
this message and has a strong relationship with many charity organizations such as Housing Works, and
the most predominant in his life Bottomless Closet.
Along with the website, Derek's media career has taken off. He has become an international press darling.
With features in The New York Times, In Touch, Pepsi We Inspire, Boho, CBS’s The Insider, and the third
season of "The Real Housewives of New York City". He also regularly appears on NBC's "The 10! Show"
and nationally syndicated "Daytime" as a style guru. He co-hosted SKY televisions " Fashion Avenue" with
super model Joddi Kidd, and "Big Boutique" on the Style Network. Derek recently finished a North East
tour with Macy’s where he made personal appearances as a fashion director.
Internationally, this past spring he ended a seven-day press tour with Nicole Miller and America’s Next
Top Model, Krista White. While in New Zealand he was sponsored as one of the "American VIP'S" to
attend the Fall 2010 fashion shows. While there he was dubbed an instant celebrity. He made appearances
on "Breakfast", "Campbell Live", "Nightline" and the 6 o'clock news.
