Derek R. Noack is an associate at Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin's San
Diego Office. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of
California San Diego, where he received his bachelor's degree in History.
Before entering law school, Derek managed recreational classes and
youth camps at UC San Diego, including the development of a work
experience and volunteer program for local high school students. At
University of San Diego School of Law, he was the Managing Editor of the
International Law Journal and worked as a research assistant for professor
Orly Lobel. Derek spent a semester as a judicial extern for the Honorable
Michael M. Anello of the Southern District of California and was a certified
legal intern for both the San Diego County District Attorney's Insurance
Fraud team and the Attorney General's Employment and Administrative
Mandates section. Additionally, he received Pro Bono Recognition by
volunteering over 150 hours while in law school, earned a High Pass in
Negotiations, and won the Outstanding Oral Advocate award in Lawyering
Skills.
After finishing law school, Derek worked for UC San Diego's Office of
Ethics and Compliance on whistleblower investigations and policy
development. Prior to joining the firm, Derek practiced civil litigation for a
range of clients including professional liability, medical malpractice,
construction defect, habitability and personal injury matters.
