Acne scar treatments with Dermapen and CROSS Rx.

Below are photos of a patient that have had acne scar treatment with a combination of Dermapen treatments and Cross treatments ( high concentration acid treatments di-rectly to scars).Dermapen treatments works by creating millions of micro-channels in the skin and causing the transformation of Collagen III to Collagen I which causes the thinning and lifting of the scar. Studies show that rolling and box acne atrophic scars are treated pretty effectively by both treatments separately. The skin looks better with Dermapen treatments because the whole face is treated and not just the scars.Ice pick atrophic acne scars are tougher to treat with the Dermapen alone. I combine both treatments and get pretty good results with ice pick scars because the high con-centration acid treatment and the micro-needling work by different mechanisms with ad-ditive results. I feel I am able to break down the shoulders of the ice pick scars with the high concentration acid in addition to getting a nice lift and flattening of the scar.
