Collection of 11 articles, 1967-1972 : One of Derrida’s foundational texts : including the celebrated La différance [sic] in which Derrida attempts to rethink the notion of philosophy.

No large paper copies issued. Reflections on the heated controversy that pitted Derrida against the philosopher John Searle, author of Speech Acts, concerning J. L. Austin's theories on the act of speech. At the end of the volume, Derrida added to his response to Searle an afterword titled Vers une éthique de la discussion.

On November 6, 1995, in Strasbourg, the International Parliament of Writers, IPW - of which Jacques Derrida was one of the Vice-Presidents - appealed to European cities for the establishment of safe-haven cities, following the charter that provides protections for persecuted writers.
