The text is printed in two columns, taken in part from a seminar on “famille de Hegel” delivered at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, rue d'Ulm, 1971-72.

First Edition. No large paper edition issued. Collection of two discourses: the first, Deux mots pour Joyce, improvised from notes on Nov. 15, 1982, for a conference at the Centre Pompidou; and the second, Ulysse gramophone, ouï-dire de Joyce, delivered at the opening of the James Joyce International Symposium, June 12, 1984, in Frankfort.

Lecture delivered March 14, 1987, during a conference organized by Collège International de Philosophie, Paris: Heidegger, questions ouvertes to which Derrida added a number of notes. First French edition, with the exception of Signature événement contexte [which first appeared from Editions de Minuit in Marges de la philosophie]; this book first appeared in English translation in the US in 1989. No large paper copies issued. Reflections on the heated controversy that pitted Derrida against the philosopher John Searle, author of Speech Acts, concerning J. L. Austin's theories on the act of speech. At the end of the volume, Derrida added to his response to Searle an afterword titled Vers une éthique de la discussion.

On November 6, 1995, in Strasbourg, the International Parliament of Writers, IPW - of which Jacques Derrida was one of the Vice-Presidents - appealed to European cities for the establishment of safe-haven cities, following the charter that provides protections for persecuted writers. The text addresses, among other topics, the intellectual heritage of the 1970s, the notion of difference (sexual, ethnic, cultural ...), human freedom, animal rights, the death penalty, modern forms, present and future, of anti-Semitism. The daughter of the author Nathalie Sarraute, Anne Sarraute (1930-2008) was an assistant director and editor on several Alain Resnais films (Nuits et brouillard - Hiroshima mon amour], and particularly well known as an editorial pillar of La Quinzaine littéraire. 9) Jacques Derrida : Mal d'archive .
