    Canned Food Drive for Local Womens Shelter

    Dunwoody Elementary School students have been collecting canned foods andpersonal hygiene items for a local womens shelter since Spring Break. The drive,sponsored by the Dunwoody Elementary 4-H Club and Sign Language Clubs andGeorgia United Credit Union, collected over seven boxes of items. Faculty clubsponsors: 4-H Club, Mrs. Carla Nugent; Sign Language Club: Ms. Melanie Anderson,Ms. Becky Whittaker, and Ms. Patti Walter.     On May 3rd (PreK-2nd) and May 4th (3rd 5th), Dunwoody Elementary School students

    participated in May Day. The school partnered with the Ga. Aquarium and other

    businesses to create two days of Science and Environmental Outdoor Activities in which

    the students participated in a variety of fun and educational hands-on learning:

    Last fall, the Georgia Aquarium hosted a Regional Coastal America Ocean Art Contestfor grades K-College. The purpose of this Ocean Art Contest was to draw upon youth's

    artistic expression to convey the importance of ocean, coasts and Great Lakes. Winningartwork from each of the regional sites will advance to the national competition later in

    March. Dunwoody elementary is happy to announce our regional winners

    and runner-ups:
