However, for some the confines of an island for a week may be too much - the laid-back Yasawa Princess offers a different way to enjoy these beautiful islands with their powder white sands, clear waters and tropical climate. The boat cruises between the atolls stopping off at deserted islands, resorts and local villages offering the chance for snorkelling, fishing, diving or just sun-bathing and relaxing. The Yasawa Princess offers a simple comfortable and very casual atmosphere, more in tune with the 'no news, no shoes' philosophy of the Maldives than a traditional cruise ship. There is no dressing up for smart dinners or formal entertainment in the evening. This holiday offers a desert island escape with a dress code of shorts and swimwear by day and casual attire after dark. Land on a deserted island for Swimming Snorkelling and beech fun. Visit Maafushi Shopping Island in the afternoon. Wed. Cruise to Maadhoo Finolhu picnic Island for daytime Beech fun, and Snorkelling, glass bottem boat and night fishing. Thurs. Cruise to Fihaalohi in the morning then across the Atolls in the afternoon to Mah ibadhoo. Fri. Cruse to Raidhiggaa Picnic Island for full days fun and night BBQ. Sat. Cruise to Theluveligaa for daytime fun, night fishing and the captains dinner. Sunday Cruse to Male and visit the capital of the Maldives for sight seeing and shopping. Itinerary – Northern Cruise. Mon. Arrive Male Airport and transfer to the Yasawa Princess, your cruising home for the next 7 days. Tues. Arrive at a resort island for sight seeing and beech fun, inc snorkelling and swimming. Wed Cruise to Eriyardhoo in the morning then on to a deserted island for snorkelling and beech fun in the afternoon. Thurs. Cruise into North Ari Atoll to visit Veligandu resort Island for sight seeing and beech fun. Fri. Cruise to sand island for swimming and snorkelling daytime with captains dinner later. Sat. Cruise to Dhiggiri for full days fun on the beech with glass bottom boats trips followed by night time BBQ Sunday. Cruse to Male and visit the capital of the Maldives for sight seeing and shopping. Scuba Diving Aboard the Yasawa Princess While cruising the desert islands of the Maldives the Yasawa Princess is accompanied by a diving Dhoni. This Dhoni is fully equipped for scuba diving but has limited capacity, so if you want to dive while on this cruise please ask your agent to note that on there booking to Desert Island Cruising. While diving from the ship you will visit some of the most prestigious diving sites in the Maldives, in 2008 we had a 65% success rate when diving for Mata and we had several encounters with Whale Shark. We dive easy drift dives, wall dives and exciting Tila’s. We carry underwater cameras for you to use or you can bring your own and take your own underwater pictures. You can also learn to dive on the ship, upgrade your Padi qualification. If you want to take a trial dive to check out the experience we can arrange this for you while on holiday.
