Registration Process
1. Orientation2. Attend Open House Monday, January 28, 2019, with your
parents.3. Turn in completed packet to a DV counselor at your middle
school. Even if you think you may attend a different school, please turn in a packet.
Only COMPLETE packets will be accepted.
Having completed, on-time packets is the first step to a successful high school experience!

Valid Arizona driver’s license can be used for proof of residency if the address matches the address listed on the attached yellow data sheet.

A few words about Career & Technical Education/Fine Art classes and other elective choices:CTE VideoChoose programs vs. classes:CTE offers many program choices that include project based instruction with opportunities for industry certifications and participation in student organizations. Students have dual enrollment opportunities with local community colleges and universities, and can participate in successful work programs during their senior year.
CTE Programs are 2-3 years and lead to industry certifications in the field.FA Programs are 4 year programs and may lead to the Performing Arts Certificate.

Earning College Credit in High School Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement curriculum is standard nation-wide and prepares students for the AP test in May. Freshman AP Opportunity: AP Human Geography
This is a college level course. The purpose of the AP course in Human Geography is to introduce students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth's surface. Students employ spatial concepts and landscape analysis to examine human social organization and its environmental consequences. They also learn about the methods and tools geographers use in their science and practice.
You can earn college credit your freshman year in high school by taking and passing the AP Human Geography test.

see if it is a good idea to also take a world language your freshman year or wait. It is not required for graduation, but two years are required for university entrance.
