3.0 DESIGN CRITERIA 3.1 List of Design Codes
The noise barriers will be designed in accordance with the following standards as appropriate.
Structures Design Manual for Highways and Railways (SDM) (HyD)
BD 37/01: Loads for Highway Bridges
BS 6399-2: Loading for buildings Part 2: Code of practice for wind loads
BS 5400: Part 3: Code of practice for the design of steel bridges 3.2 Material Design In general the following material properties will be assumed:

* All hot dip galvanized steel components shall comply with BS EN ISO 1461
