    1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Purpose This submission is for the design calculation to the mounting details of traffic sign

    frame on Noise Barrier. 2.0 DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

    This design calculation is prepared including, A) Traffic Sign Sub-Frame Design Checking. (100x5 thk SHS & 100x10 thk SHS)

    B) Traffic Sign Support Checking (100x5 thk SHS, 100x10thk SHS & 150x10thk

    SHS) C) Connection Details Checking (Weld & Bolt Checking)

    3.0 DESIGN CRITERIA 3.1 List of Design Codes

    The noise barriers will be designed in accordance with the following standards as appropriate.

    Structures Design Manual for Highways and Railways (SDM) (HyD)

    BD 37/01: Loads for Highway Bridges

    BS 6399-2: Loading for buildings Part 2: Code of practice for wind loads

    BS 5400: Part 3: Code of practice for the design of steel bridges 3.2 Material Design In general the following material properties will be assumed:

    Property Value

    Hot rolled steel section Grade S275

    Steel Plate Grade S275

    Stainless Steel Blots Grade A4-80

    * All hot dip galvanized steel components shall comply with BS EN ISO 1461

    3.3 Loadings

    Dead Load Density of Aluminium 27kN/m3 Density of Structural Steel 78.5kN/m3

    Wind Load Dynamic Pressure Head 2.8 kN/m2
