Design Future Lab is a representation of how communication design works. It’s not how the artefacts looks like in the end, but it’s shows that we have to go through process to creating futures. Design have to go through ‘material thinking’ from unknown to known and become what is. The basic concept of this logo reflecting what is design future is, emphasizing the future as a main point where future is something that have to through ‘processes’ and then to be ‘evolve’ all the time.
From ‘evolve’ the identity for Design Future Lab is something that not static frozen in time. It’s always growing, evolving, and adapting. The application itself play with the F symbol and the box of ‘future’ always move around and evolving all the time. As a dynamic approaches to the identity, real brand expression will shows in engaging and inventive implementation. The logo itself become the element of design that will engage with the audience and make them feel the experience of evolving through design. Yet, the visual identity maintains a sense of stability that reflects trust and recognisability. And also, the visual identity become both flexible and constant

Our design allows a variety of colours. We would recommend using one base colour with a complimentary colour as a secondary colour. Below are some examples of colour palettes you could work with. You are welcome to add different colours.

Images can be used in two ways. You can either crop an image to fit into
the shape of the ‘F’. If you wish to use full bleed images for backgrounds
we have created a set of ‘inspirational guide’ images that you can use or
even follow a similar idea to set up your own. These images are basically
images that make use of the letter ‘F’ using found and or related objects
to the content in question.

Images can also be used as full bleed. These are usually used on front covers of publications or as poster backgrounds. They are images that are ‘handmade’ capturing the idea of evolution. We have provided you with a DVD of sample images that you may wish to use. You can also create your own images. See sample images below for an idea of the ‘look and feel’.
