Screening Committee
DESIGN TOKYO establishes the Screening Committee, organised by specialists
working in the design industry. The Screening Committee shall conduct screening
and qualify applicants as exhibitors at DESIGN TOKYO while respecting the
concept and the quality of the fair and its screening policies.

July 6–8, 2011 DESIGN TOKYO
Yukio Fujimaki, President, Fujimaki Brothers, Inc.Mr. Fujimaki – known as a ‘Charismatic Buyer’– has been storming Japan based upon numbers of new and maverick works he handled. Today, he has been actively involved not only in apparel industry but also in brand producing, educational field, and TV, etc.
Kazuo Kawasaki, Ph.D., Design Director / Professor of Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University Mr. Kawasaki is a design director, who has been designing wide range of products. He has been awarded from numbers of Japanese and overseas prizes. Numbers of his products have been exhibited as permanent collections at major overseas museums such as ‘MoMA’.
Tomomi Nagayama, Interior StylistMs. Nagayama has been actively involved in interior & product styling for magazines such as ‘Casa BRUTUS’ and‘ELLE DECO’, etc. Also, she has been handling interior styling, etc., for corporate show rooms and catalogues. She has been interested in products and things which go well with our daily life, and has been studying about them.
Takao Mizukami, Chief Editor of 'Real Design'Mr. Mizukami had been engaged in editing magazines for digital products, watches, art, fashion and luxurious lifestyle. In 2010, he became the editor in chief of 'Real Design', whose motto is 'Giving Stable Quality to our Hands' while he has been in charge of interior, housing and lifestyle magazines.
DESIGN TOKYO has a great advantage of its high-end visitor profile and it was actually an ideal venue for business discussions. We prepared 2 meeting sets and arranged 90 appointments with design stores or other retailers. The total sales on site reached 120 thousand USD.

This time, we received orders not only from domestic companies but also from overseas retailers, and the total sales will reach 100 thousand USD. It is true that the show provides us even better opportunity to meet high-profile buyers compared to the other shows. We will definitely come back to the show next year.

Appointment System through “e-Guidebook”
All exhibitors will be listed on our exclusive bilingual online
catalogue, “e-Guidebook”. You can post photos of your products
with features which you will exhibit during the show. All buyers will
be able to look through the e-Guidebook before they visit the show
and be able to make appointments with overseas exhibitors. This
system is very efficient in increasing your sales at the venue.
Publicity Service
To maximise media coverage, Show Management prepares media
releases which include your company and product information.
DESIGN TOKYO will send these releases to major Japanese and
global trade press. Simply send your information to Show
Management to effectively publicise your company.
Hotel Discounts and Interpreting/Translating Services
DESIGN TOKYO exhibitors are given great discounts on a variety
of hotels in Tokyo, starting at approx. US$75. DESIGN TOKYO
Show Management also helps arrange translating and interpreting
services for your business needs, starting at approx. US$45 for
translating/page, and interpreting at approx. US$230/day.
Special Seminar on How to Conduct Business in Japan
Show Management will hold a special seminar only for overseas
exhibitors on the day before the show. This special seminar will
offer coaching on how to penetrate the new market, Japan. It will
be a great opportunity for you to learn more about the Japanese
market, business custom, and how to utilise the show and so on.

Exclusive Use of Exhibitors-only Logos
Exhibitors and their actual exhibits (exclusive to DESIGN TOKYO)
are entitled to use exhibitors-only logos (see the right sample
image) as a proof of exhibiting. You can utilise the logos on
product packages, line-up catalogues, and company website for
sales promotion.
Grant of Certificate of Participation at DESIGN TOKYO
Show Management issues a certificate of your participation at
DESIGN TOKYO 2011 as a qualified exhibitor. It will be sent after
the show and you can utilise by setting it at the reception room,
etc. as needed.
