Lockdown ScenarioCAPTURE A SCENARIO
Dr Sameer Patnaik, is a 37-year old doctor from Bhadrak, Odisha - the state which recently had a boost in its Covid-19 cases by 350%. Being a doctor, Dr Patnaik is working long hours to help in the recovery of patients. The queue of the Covid-19 cases in the hospitals is never-ending. The numbers are keeping on increasing, in which there are both patients who need immediate treatment and patients who can wait.
While Dr Patnaik is performing his duty tirelessly, he’s worried about the health of his family at his house. This includes his 67-year old father who has been under treatment for respiratory diseases for many years, but the medicines are no longer effective, requiring him to be under regular medical supervision, his wife and children. Since the lockdown is still active, the Patnaik family is in a constant state of worry.
How might Dr Sameer Patnaik focus his attention to the patients prioritising them based on the urgency of the matter, while not having a worry of his family at home?

In view of restrictions on mobility due worldwide lockdown scenario because of the pandemic, the face-to-face medical consultations are difficult. But the healthcare industry continues to evolve and are adopting telemedicine to facilitate accessibility of health care services.
Telemedicine is a blend of information and communication technologies with medical science. But using telemedicines we can only diagnose common diseases as no physical examination is possible, which may increase the number of wrong diagnosis.
WHY IS IT AN URGENT PROBLEM?
A vast majority of Indian population suffers from Cardiovascular diseases & Respiratory diseases. Physical inspection is a mandatory process for proper diagnosis. Hence the need is imminent for accessing health data in real time for diagnosis.

SOLUTIONS & IDEAS
We considered using sensor built in the cell phone itself for determining the physical parameters of the patient, but this effort was limited due to fact that if we see on an average, people all over the world use budget-friendly smartphones which may not produce quality results for diagnosis.
We also considered designing a health kit add-on for smartphones, housing all the necessary medical sensors. This idea was restricted as the manufacturing process becomes complex which would reflect on the overall per-device cost.
We wanted to develop something easy to use, affordable and above all, gets us the most accurate physical parameters.
SolutionHOW DOES YOUR SOLUTION ADDRESS THE IDENTIFIED PROBLEM?
Our solution consists of a stethoscope paired with a microphone which is connected to the smartphone. We have designed an app which detects the device, records the respiratory signals and accordingly, give the output. If an anomaly is detected the app with suggests for an appointment with the concerned doctor and the booking of the appointment can be done on the app itself.
This device could be made under 600 INR and the app has a user-friendly interface. Moreover, the data from the device is sent to the doctor, so this fulfils the gap of physical monitoring the patients remotely. This solution avoids the user from any unwanted checkup, as it gives a measure of the seriousness of the underlying health issue.
User Experience
HOW DOES THE UX OF YOUR SOLUTION LOOK LIKE?
Our team worked hard just to maintain the essence of this proposed solution to every user in the market for which we did intensive research work on gathering resources at first, taking interviews from people of different age groups, and compiling them to make a user journey. Creating wireframes, discarding them over and over again, we came up with one which suited the different user scenarios. Besides the UX, the UI of the app should also feel good as this is the segment that attracts the customer. Trying and digging up the internet for different color palettes and choosing one of them was really a very hectic task. The app has been made keeping in mind the basic design principles and to attract modern-day users. Mockup Video of Heasy
We interviewed people of different age groups just to know how telemedicine survey could benefit them in this lockdown. Compiling the suggestions, feedbacks etc. we came forward with an idea of exactly what needs to be done which is Heasy. We created several user-flows before deciding one of them. Several brainstorming sessions were held to come up with a user-flow which is user-friendly to all age groups. Wireframes were made keeping in mind user of different age groups and after which a wireframe was made which was synthesized out of the different wireframes.

The user of our product ‘Heasy’ will be benefitted as the person would get to know about any cardiovascular health issues before it reaches a state of high severity. As the system is user-friendly, users can diagnose at their own convenience. As more people get under the roof of our product, we will be successful in reducing the number of casualties by cardiovascular health diseases, and hopefully, this product will pave the way to a healthier society. By supporting Heasy, UMO will be marching upfront to lessen the effects of this severe health issue. Getting talked about by an organization like UMO will attract other organisations as well to look upon this matter seriously and take necessary actions in one way or the other. Being a part of this venture, directly or indirectly, small or big, every community like UMO would be taking care of their social responsibilities.

HOW CAN YOUR SOLUTION BE IMPLEMENTED AND SUCCESSFUL?
The target user has to place an order online for the device. As the cost of the device is minimal, most Indian families would be able to afford this. The system could be used on multiple patients hence is suitable for a family. The package comes with a printed guideline for the first time users to set up and record their sample breathing and the app output the symptoms. The ability to detect the critical health issue in your palm beforehand in a lockdown situation is invaluable.
We have a network of doctors registered on our app. This helps the user to book an appointment to the closest consultant nearby. The doctors, in turn, could now consult any patient according to their convenience. As patients can now consult doctors staying at home, this prevents the spread of Covid-19 virus.
