Overview

This document explains how to setup a client workstation to run DestinationsCVBreeze/CCBreeze 4.1. The setup program installs MDAC, creates an ODBC datasource, and then automatically configures the workstation.

Running the Workstation Setup Program

This procedure explains how to run the workstation setup program on a computerrunning Windows 98/2000/XP or NT Workstation.

Assumptions This procedure assumes that you have upgraded the program server to run CC/CVBreeze 4.1. This procedure also assumes that Microsoft Office, version 2000 orXP is already installed on the workstation.

Requirements To complete this procedure, you must have administrator access to system resources.You must run the setup program from theNgsdirectory on the program server.Before starting the setup program, you need to shut down all Windows programs onthe workstation.

Steps To run the workstation setup program:

1. Map a network drive from the workstation to theNgsdirectory on the programserver.

Note: Newmarket suggests that you select drive N.

2. In theNgs\WSSetupdirectory, double-clickWSSetup.exe.

Note: If you are running the workstation setup program on a Terminal server,the following message appears: "Configured for TS, setup will now restart."Click Ok to continue.

3. In theWelcomedialog box, clickNext.

4. In theSoftware License Agreementdialog box, clickYes.

5. In theProgram Setupdialog box, do the following:

Note: Drive N is the default for Newmarket International. If you must changethe drive, clickMap Drive . Map the new drive, and then use theSelect Drivebox to select the drive you just mapped. ClickRefresh to add the new drive inthe path to the Program, Screen, and INI directories.

Program directory box Type the path to theExe directory on the program server(for example, N:\EXE).

Screen directorybox Type the path to theScreensdirectory on the programserver (for example, N:\SCREENS).

INI directory box Type the path to theINI directory on the program server(for example, N:\INI).

Temp directory box Type the path to theTemp directory on yourworkstation (for example, C:\TEMP).

Set Numberbox Verify that1 is the set number.

Schema Namebox Verify thatNSS_DATABASE is the default setting.

6. In theMerge Setupdialog box, do the following, and then clickNext:

Note: If you are not sure which version of Word is on your workstation, clickXP or 2000and the setup program will automatically search and find the exefile. If you selectNone, Merge will not work.

In the Do this

Word Version area Select the version of Word on the Workstation.

Word directory box Type the path of the Winword.exe file on theWorkstation (for example, C:\Program Files\MicrosoftOffice\Office).

Form directory box Type the path of theForms directory on the programserver (for example, N:\FORMS).

Details directory box Type the path of theDetails directory on the programserver (for example, N:\DETAILS).

Output directory box Type the path of theEooutput directory on the programserver (for example, N:\EOOUTPUT).

7. In theProgram Setupdialog box, do the following, and then clickNext:

Note: A progress indicator appears and the setup program starts copying files.The setup program takes approximately 15 minutes.

Enable Email check box Select the check box.

File Sizebox Type the maximum file size of the email.

Note: The maximum file size is 4 MB.

SMTP Pickup Path box Type the path of the SMTP server.

8. In theSelect Componentsdialog box, verify that theInstall MDAC checkbox is selected, and then clickNext.

Note: The setup program extracts the MDAC program, and then places all thedistributed files on the workstation. MDAC is a self-extraction EXE programthat installs all necessary ADO, ODBC, and COM objects on the Workstation.Files included are ODBC, ADO, OLE DB, and the SQL Server 7.0 driver.The setup program takes up to five minutes.

9. In the nextSelect Componentsdialog box, verify that theConfigure Datasourcecheck box is selected, and then clickNext.

10. In theMicrosoft SQL Server DSN Configuration dialog box, do thefollowing, and then clickNext:

11. In the nextMicrosoft SQL Server DSN Configuration dialog box, accept thedefault setting, and then clickClient Configuration .

In the Do this

Namebox Verify thatNSS-MSSQLis the name of the data source.

Description box Enter a description of the data source name (optional).

Server box Enter the name of the database (SQL) server.

12. In theAdd Network Library Configuration dialog box, do the following,and then clickOK :

Note: If you are installing multiple workstations, you need to configure thenetwork library on the first workstation only.

13. In theMicrosoft SQL Server DSN Configuration dialog box, type do thefollowing, and then clickNext:

In the Do this

Server aliasbox Enter the name of the computer where SQL Serverdatabase is located.

Network libraries area SelectTCP/IP.

Computer Namebox Enter the IP Address of computer where the SQL Serverdatabase is located.

Port Number box Leave the default port number at the default.

In the Do this

Login ID box TypeNI_REPORT.

Passwordbox Type the password to NSS_Database.

14. In the nextMicrosoft SQL Server DSN Configuration dialog box, clickNext to accept the default settings for NSS_DATABASE.

15. In the nextMicrosoft SQL Server DSN Configuration dialog box, accept thedefault settings, and then clickFinish.

16. In theODBC Microsoft SQL Server Setupdialog box, verify that the ODBCsettings are correct, and then clickTest Data Source.

17. In the nextODBC Microsoft SQL Server Setupdialog box, verify that thetest completed successfully, and then clickOK .

Note: If the test does not complete successfully try again. Make sure that youentered the correct settings, such as data source name and server name.

18. In theProduct Installation dialog box, select the product you are installing,and then clickNext.

19. In theSetup Completedialog box, selectYes, I want to restart mycomputer now, and then clickFinish.

Now that you have run the workstation setup program, you can install third partysoftware, such as Market vision and Crystal Reports.
