Prob 8-15Determine the cost to purchase and install all the 2 x 4 studs listed in Prob. 8-15. The wall is 8’-0” high. Windows are 4’-0” high and doors are 6’-8”. Headers over doors & windows are 2 ea. 2 x 12s nailed together. The lower sill is resting directly on concrete and therefore must be constructed of “treated” lumber. Use RS Means labor and equipment to install the members. You may use a power nailer, if available. Go to Home Depot or Lowes web sites to determine the best cost for all lumber. Include 25% tax on all labor, 6% sales tax on materials and 10% Overhead & Profit (O&P) in your answer. Use the Excel template handed out in class to calculate weight and total cost for the wall.
